One on of our road trips several years ago, Cacia and I spent a night at my friend's marijuana farm along the Trinity River in far northern California. What a TRIP to stay in that place - when you get out into those parts of the US that are sparsely populated, where people move not to be bothered, or to be amongst their own, or do their own thing, you never know what you might find.

I can't even go into the how many amusing incongruities mingle at my friend's farm.  Parts of the farm house were super nice, while other parts smacked of meth lab chic.  A spiral staircase was built in the living room (despite the house being one story). On a 10 foot long pond in the front yard sat an 8 foot long row boat.  The manager of the farm looked like a strung-out homeless burner hippie, but was quiet and kind and had the cooking chops of a celebrity chef (he made us a frittata for breakfast that was divine). The house was, for some reason, strewn with homemade fantasy swords. I could go on.

Cacia and I tried to sample all it had to offer, from sharing the comfy bed (we'd been sleeping in tents and on friends' floors for several days). to frolicking in rows of weed marijuana plants, to running down the stair way to the Trinity River itself, where their happened to be a sandy beach at a bend in the river a few minutes from the house with my friend's dogs.

Since we were pretty busy playing in the water and running around with the dogs, most of the hundreds of photos i shot are not well photographed, but they are attached to such good memories from a great trip that I had a hard time narrowing it down. i will be posting a bunch more of them for my $10 and $15 patrons this week.
