To my patrons within the EU, important reading:

On September 14, 2019, European Union patrons may see an additional authentication flow when pledging. This will be from their bank and will appear when adding a credit or debit card, or pledging to a creator. This is to reduce fraud for card holders and may be required by patrons' banks to comply with the EU’s Payments Services Directive 2.

This additional authentication flow will be a pop-up that presents the patron’s bank’s authentication page. The pop-up may request a username and password, a code sent to email or text, or any other authentication method supported by the bank. Patrons should contact their bank with any questions about fulfilling the authentication requirements, as Patreon does not control the form.

If you add a new credit or debit card, or pledge to a new creator, you may see a pop-up from your bank that requests extra verification. This could be a username and password, a code sent to email or text, or any other authentication method supported by your bank.

Please note that if you have any questions or issues with one of these pop-ups, you would have to check with your bank as they are not controlled by Patreon.
