"The chamber doors were inoperative, sensors indicated blockage from the inside jamming the mechanism. My squad was already on edge, giddy: Wayland project grunts have this fightin' itch I hadn't seen since my last tour, years back.

We had shredded most of the growths leading to containment without much hassle. Not sure if it's the rounds top brass provided us, the intense training we've been through the past few months, or the stuff they've been dosing us with, but these squirming things didn't really put up much of a fight. Definitely not the kind we'd been led to expect after regular sec details never came back...

I performed a final systems check, then we were ready to go.
