Aria was the first full-body transformation performed by the shop where Li and Renée served as living advertisements. 

She had run away from her oppressive home village and wanted to start a new life in the big city. To avoid being tracked down and forcibly returned home she needed a completely new look.

Later on when Dr Glas had turned out to be a crook, the business needed a new front figure.
As the resident magician Gregor was working from behind the scenes, Aria instead acted as The Transformation Sorceress to their clients.
