[Announcements] Change to Membership Billing (Patreon)

Hello, my friends!

I would like to inform you that I received an email from Patreon saying from now on, content creators has a option to change the payment cycle for new patrons.

Originally, anyone who signed up for a content creator paid immediately and again every 1st day of each month, for example if you signed up today, tomorrow October 1st you would be charged again.

This system has been offered since the early days of Patreon.

I never thought it was fair to you and I believe a lot of people would love to be able to choose the best date to a recurring payment type instead of every 1st of each month.

The platform gives us the option, from now on, anyone who joins a creator on October 5th, for example, will be charged again in a 30-day cycle so as an example the next charge would be on November 5th, and so on.

From what I've read, if I'm not mistaken, for members already registered they continue to be charged as if they had joined on the 1st day of each month.

So I believe that to benefit from this new implementation they would have to unsubscribe before the end of the month, and make a new one  it the following month on the chosen day.

Once again, I'm not sure, I'm basing myself on the reading I did, it seems to me that if you cancel in the month, you've already paid for it, and subscribing again is valid for the subscription initially made in the current month.

So anyone who signs up as a new member starting today or next month will receive their monthly renewal in that 30-day cycle. Avoiding these problems of 2 consecutive payments.
