Derek here.
Today is a special day. I just finished tweaking some textures in the boiler rooms. With that being complete, the demo is now VISUALLY complete. All the light building is complete. All the post processing work is complete. All of the collision is complete.
We have made excellent progress with QA testing. We have completed the QA testing and tweaking of all the 1st class builds. What remains is the boiler room level, which should be delivered to the QA team shortly and be completed in about 7-10 days.
The biggest task yet is to complete the level logic programming. This is essentially just tying all the levels together with loading triggers, so the player is able to traverse between levels. I have already completed most of the logic programming necessary to make it work.
Some tweaking of the menus is needed. Mostly some simplification, as well as adding all the new levels as spawn options.
I am happy to show you what will be my FINAL D401 image update on Patreon. A sneak peek of Boiler rooms 5 and 6, as well as the coal bunkers.
Just today I reworked a number of steel textures in the boiler rooms to elevate the quality just a little more. A few days ago I spent a couple hours adding decals to make the boiler rooms a bit more dirty, as it would have been during a real voyage. I think the results speak for themselves.
It's been an incredible pleasure to work on this, and I can't wait for all of you to get your hands on it. I promise you it's not far away.
