Well, it's about time we actually started announcing when we do these things, so here goes.

Iwara has continued to grow even more, which means the demand for bandwidth increases as well. Today, we added 2 new front-line servers, and replaced another that was not doing so well. These are the servers that handle all of the newest videos, and have the highest throughput compared to other servers we use.

We have also added a new image server, that handles all thumbnails and image uploads. This was to address storage space concerns, as the previous server was reaching capacity.

And speaking of capacity concerns, we will also be adding new storage servers for all older content that is released from the front-line servers. In addition to extra storage space, these servers are also equipped with more power and throughput. We hope that these new servers will mean an increase in streaming performance of older content. 4 of these servers will be rolled out in the coming days, once data has been transferred! This is initially a test, and if they work out as well as we hope, then all older servers will be replaced with them.

Overall, we are now currently using roughly 40 servers.

What is this image in the post, you ask? That is showing our total data transferred for the past 30 days. It totals out to 1.87 PB (or 1,870,000 GB) of outbound data!
The long downward dips represent prime traffic hours.

Hi, I'm a professional web programmer and I'm now taking long vacation, so I'd like to commit to your code to fix this slowness. off cause as a volunteer.

An update on the bandwidth usage metrics would be nice. Or, in general, any update...
