Behind the Scenes: CHANGING HIS MIND (Patreon)

Today I thought I'd share a few bonus, unused pics from my illustrated story Changing His Mind. I liked these but for various reasons they didn't quite fit the flow of the story.

You can ask Stable Diffusion to generate images of famous people doing weird stuff, and it's a great way to create sequences featuring fairly consistent characters. Changing His Mind has 2022 Tom Cruise cast as a scientist who transforms into 1990-something Jennifer Connelly. If you only know Connelly as the very serious, skinny actress of recent years, do yourself a favor and check her out in some of her older movies like Career Opportunities and The Rocketeer. She was an absolute bombshell with a little angel face and great big boobs, and I think she might have been the sexiest human who was ever on a movie screen.

I love the image above but SD gave her kind of a weird pajama top for a shirt, and I couldn't make it fit anywhere in the TF sequence.

Here's another one I was sorry to cut. I feel like this one really captures the "turning into Jennifer Connelly" feeling, with the uneven boobs and her hair growing down over her face. Sadly it just didn't work with the images that came before and after. My priority with these is always making the story clear, so sometimes I have to cut my favorite stuff.

This one was kind of eerie, almost like Stable Diffusion figured out I was trying to transform a lab coat into a dress so it gave Jennifer a semi-transparent sleeve. It had a lot going for it, but I was able to generate a different image that made it a little clearer the lab coat was transforming.

Jennifer is P.O.'ed! Another cute shot, but again, it didn't fit the images around it. This expression might've worked at the end, when Cruise has turned into Connelly and he's upset about it, but at that point I wanted him to be wearing the dress and not the lab coat. On the right you can glimpse an unedited version of one of the squishy, boneless nightmare hands that I'm always cleaning up in these images. It's not rare for SD to give characters way too many fingers on one hand... or too many hands!

Not a super-sexy image, but I thought it was interesting. I asked for a female Tom Cruise, and Stable Diffusion delivered! I think she looks like a Real Housewife.

I had to cut this one because the dress wasn't a great match for the dress in the other pics, and the face would've needed a bit too much touching up. Jennifer has kind of a freaky catgirl thing going on here. This almost looks like a scene from some lost version of The Island of Dr. Moreau!

We'll close things out with this one. I asked SD to give me a mix of Tom Cruise and Jennifer Connelly, and I think it did remarkably well here! I didn't use this one because I came up with another I liked just a bit better... and I didn't want to get stuck trying to fix that monster hand!
