* Booom! * * Booom! * * Booom! * * Booom! * * Booom! *

Sonic booms are heard throughout Mount Olympus; Rao and Thanatos are fighting fiercely. The attacks of the two gods were so powerful that, with a swing of the sword, Rao could easily erase a mountain.

The same applied to Thanatos;with just a swing of his scythe, death would fall over a large area on Mount Olympus. The plants would die, the soil would die, the trees would die ... Everything that the scythe touched died forever.

Although they were fighting so fiercely, the two gods were not hurt; they were fighting carefully not to be erased from existence.

As the god of life, Rao's own nature is resistant to Thanatos' death.

The same applies to Thanatos, as the entity of death, he has great resistance to Rao who is a god of life.

Normally, Rao was supposed to be at a disadvantage in this fight. After all, he is not an entity of life; he is not the very concept of life. Because of that, he should not have resistance against Thanatos' death. After all, Thanatos is the concept of death itself.

But everything changes when Rao wields the blade of Olympus. That sword is capable of amplifying the divine powers of the individual who wields it; because of that sword, Rao's divinity of life was elevated to the concept of an entity.

Rao also absorbed the power of Helios, the sun entity of Greek mythology. In doing so, he empowered his divinity of the sun, and that divinity was raised to the level of an entity. And, thanks to his monstrous talent, he managed to awaken his second main divinity, which was the divinity of life.

He also managed to awaken minor divinities related to the sun, such as heat and light itself.

Rao was a monster. The more he fought, the more he adapted to his enemy; it was only a matter of time for Thanatos to cease to exist, and the god of death himself knew that. He knew he was not an opponent for Rao.

"Damn it!" Thanatos was annoyed. "Why don't you die!?" He was getting hurried. Despite having an advantage with the divinity that never runs out; he knew that if they continued like this, he would cease to exist by Rao's blade.

Rao displays a small smile and prepares himself again; the more he struggles with Thanatos, the more he finds out about himself. He is learning to better control his divinity and his new powers.

“Why? Why? Why don't you die? You are an annoying god ... The throne of Olympus must be mine! ” Thanatos started to murmur out loud; he was at a loss as to what to do.

"Titans! Attack Rao! ” He ordered the Titans, but the Titans just stood there watching the fight.

Rao showed a small smile when he saw the Titans not moving, "It looks like you are alone."

Thanatos' skull shows an irritated expression. "Shut up!! Shut up!! Shut up!! You do not know anything."

Thanatos tried to order the Hecatonchires, but the monsters just remained silent; they did not move.

Rao looks at the horizon with cold eyes for a moment, then he looks at Thanatos with a neutral expression.

"You talk too much." Rao knew he couldn't make big moves; he knows he's running out of energy. But, he doesn't have much time, he must finish this fight soon.

Thanatos' scythe is a dangerous weapon, he needs to destroy that scythe first.

'Hey partner, can you handle it?' Rao asked mentally.

For a moment the blade of Olympus glowed blue as if in agreement, Rao showed a small smile. “I am trusting you.

Rao focuses on his divinity;slowly, he started to transfer all his divinity to the blade of Olympus.

While doing this, Rao's appearance started to change. He started to revert to his old red hair appearance; that was the proof that he no longer had the divinity to maintain his divine form.

Thanatos observed this and smiled, but soon his smile breaks when he sees the blade of Olympus shining in gold.

Feeling the pressure coming from the sword, Thanatos asked: "What did you do !?"

Rao said nothing, he just showed a small smile. 'I trust you, I know that you can destroy that scythe.' The blade glows again as if it were speaking. 'Of course I can destroy it.'

Rao places the blade in front of him and soon everyone can hear a sonic boom:

* BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! *

Then, a crash sound is heard.

Since he is not in his divine form, he cannot reach the speed of light. But,the speed of sound is enough.

Rao appears in front of Thanatos and attacks him!

Thanatos quickly defends himself, but that is what Rao wanted; he puts all his strength in the attack.

* BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! *

An explosion occurs when the two weapons collide.

Thanatos realized what Rao was doing, with frustration in his voice he said: "It's useless, my scythe is the strongest !!"

Rao ignores Thanatos' words and adds more strength. "AHHHHHHHHHH !!!!" His eyes start to glow in blood red, his muscles start to contract strongly; he was using a lot of strength!

“It's useless, my scythe is the strongest !!” Thanatos screamed again. He was repeating those words with strong belief, but a sound made his soul fill with despair.

* Crack *

A crack appears in the scythe.

"What?" Thanatos was shocked.

* Crack * * Crack * * Crack * * Crack * * Crack * * Crack *

Slowly, several cracks began to appear in Thanatos' scythe.

"Damn it!! How can that be possible !? ” Thanatos spoke in disbelief.

Rao puts in more of his strength !! "AHHHHHHHHH !!!!!!" He starts to press Thanatos back.

"Damn it!! I hate you, Rao !! ”

Suddenly, Thanatos 'scythe breaks into thousands of pieces; the blade of Olympus cuts through Thanatos' scythe and splits the god of death in the middle!

"What ....?"

Not satisfied, Rao begins to cut Thanatos into several pieces.

He feels Thanatos’ divinity entering the sword; that was the proof that the existence of death has ceased to exist. But, he ignores all that, and using a frightening speed, he erases Thanatos' entire existence.

* Cough *

Rao just stops attacking when he coughs blood on the ground, he looks at his blood and thinks: 'It seems that I have forced my body too much ... I am out of energy and tired, but I can still fight !!'

He clenched his fist tightly, he was prepared to fight harder if necessary.

With the dignity of a king, Rao pretends that nothing is happening and starts flying towards the sky.

Slowly, he flies towards the sun;with the image of the sun behind him, he raises the blade of Olympus and declares: "Thanatos, is dead."

His voice resonated throughout Mount Olympus; many gods were unresponsive to seeing Rao's image. They just watched everything;they felt like they were living a bad dream.

"What are you going to do?" He points the blade of Olympus at the Titans and Hecatonchires: “Will you challenge me? Or you will submit. ”

Atlas walks slowly towards Rao.

Every step the titan took made the earth around him tremble. "What are you going to do about the traitors?"

"I will punish them. They have committed a crime; I will judge them and, if I deem it necessary, I will kill them." He spoke the truth.

Atlas nods: "You are not a foolish king. You know that after this war, a new war will start; you know that the other pantheons will take advantage of the fragility of Olympus."

Rao doesn't say anything, he just shows a small smile. That was one of the reasons why he didn't want to kill many gods in this war. But, unfortunately, that was not possible; the Greek gods are very selfish. They are beings that only care about themselves. Because of this, it was inevitable that many gods would be killed.

Seeing Rao's smile, Atlas understood everything he needed. "I will swear loyalty to you, but just promise me something."

"Please judge my brothers properly; many of my brothers only participated in this war because we were desperate for freedom." He spoke in a neutral tone.

Rao displays a small smile: "Atlas, I am a king; I am not a murderer. The traitors who conspired directly with Thanatos will die, but to those who were just trying to live, I will give an appropriate punishment."

"....." Atlas just remained silent while looking at Rao.

Rao looks seriously at Atlas, he puts his hand on his chest and says in a voice that can move worlds: “I, Rao, the new god king of Olympus, I promise that I will judge the traitors according to their crimes. I will have an impartial judgment that is not affected by my emotions. ”

A golden chain appears around Rao, and soon disappears; this is the sign that he has made an unbreakable promise.

Atlas smiles a little then he kneels on the floor and says: “I, Atlas, promise eternal loyalty to Rao, the new king of Olympus. As long as Rao is alive, I will serve you and devote all my energy to your cause. This is an unbreakable promise. ”

Like Hades, Rao felt a red chain rising on his body; that was the vow Altas made with him. He instinctually knows that if he tells Atlas to die now, the titan who is kneeling in front of him would commit suicide.

"......"

All the titans and gods were watching this scene in silence with their mouths open. Gaia, who was hidden under the ground, just looked at everything with neutral eyes; many thoughts were going through her head. 'Did I rush into my decision?'

Soon, the surviving titans walked behind Atlas and knelt; the Hecatonchires also did the same thing.

Soon a vision of several mythological beings that would put fear on any mortal could be seen. All these beings were kneeling before one person ... Wrong, all these beings were kneeling before a god ... Rao, the new king God of Olympus.

Rao shows a big smile, then he looks at the horizon and sees several beings invading the territory of Mount Olympus. And, in front of these beings, there was a beautiful woman with long black hair and golden eyes. She was wearing a large Yukata that contained the symbol of sun on the back. "Ara, it looks like he noticed us; as expected of a king god." The woman spoke with a maternal tone that contained dignity; it was quite clear that she was the leader of these invading gods.

"Lady Amaterasu, what should we do?"

The sun goddess of Shinto mythology opened a fan and placed it over her face. Underneath this fan, everyone could see that she had a big smile on her face. "We are going to pay a visit to the new king of Olympus."

Amaterasu, Queen goddess of the sun of Shinto mythology.

My recommendation would be to put a focus on Krypton's interactions with Earth not just Rao's. The pantheon war arc is getting a little stale considering how few Kryptonians are actually relevant.

VictorWeismann

Yes, actually, I was thinking of doing that. As I can tell, compared to the other gods, the Japanese gods are more calm. Next arc, I will focus more on Kryptonians and the development of Kryptonians. The Japanese gods will stay in the background, I am building an arc that they will participate in the future.

Yo I'm loving this arc I know it has to end eventually but I'm a mythology nerd so I love everything going on with these interactions.
