September Dev Update (Patreon)

Hey everyone, we're almost done with the first alpha demo for Forbidden Arms: Bloodlust!

The demo's core is actually complete now and Mahalai Tiers can get them in a separate post after this. But currently it is still missing AUDIO, but in a week or two it will be finally completed. I am just mixing the rest of the bgm and sfx and also waiting for Mayumi's Voice Actress to send the moans and grunts I ordered.

The alpha demo will be delivered in flash / swf files, but I have started porting the game to GODOT Game Engine for a week now. And boy how I wish I did it sooner. Godot is basically Flash on steroids. It has everything. Even the oop and node system is pretty much flash.

We can push the dimensions to HD 1080p and at current prototype tests, I managed to spawn 2,000 blood particles on the screen with constant 60fps. (Flash struggles at 150 blood particles) 

We'll also have controller support!

Maybe even mobile if the end product will run on Open GL 2. (I used GLES3)

That said, the hardest part is moving all the image files to godot, as we have 2.7k png sprites to convert to sprite sheets. But aside from that, development has been very healthy and fun!

I mean, by December, flash will finally die anyway and at as I have been having 3+ crashes with it a day, its time to abandon it.

I'm really loving Godot and its similarity with flash. We will definitely make Divine Arms with it and I don't need to invent the physics and tilemap for it.
