So here's the Tech Demo for Redemptio. Feedback is surely appreciated.
Again this is just a gameplay demonstration engine ONLY. It is the very basic but already a working candidate. (just a few more bug squishes)

There is already an in game tutorial so follow along until you reach the end of the demo.

A bit of a disclaimer, there will be no more development happening towards that engine for a long time as I will be focusing on the lewd animations for 3 months and the programmer will be focusing on another small game.

If you are asking why we switched to making small games, it is a temporary phase for the studio. I personally would want to hone my animation skills before tackling Divine Arms again, and at the same time hoping to sell these games to platforms that host adult content games, with the studio growing, Patreon money will not be enough to sustain it solely. 

In addition, we do plan to port Divine Arms to Unity because fuck flash as a game creation tool. (We're also aware of how people have some opinions regarding the 2.5D port, so no worries as we will explore all options and will get everyone's vote on the art direction.)

So go on ahead and play the tech demo, and here are some more info about it:


REDEMPTIO:

Some 200-300 years before Divine Arms, a mysterious faction invaded the Celestial's home planet. To the Diviner's surprise, these enemies have an affinity with Blightlust, enabling them to transport armies from something appears to be blight rifts. 

What comes out of the rift is a chaotic mare's nest, as it expels succumbed random beings from different realms, steered to do but one thing: Devour the Sacred Crystals.
(This weakness/exploit was what prompted the invasion in the original Divine Arms)

Without the functioning crystals, defense and communication have further retracted the Celestial army.

Sensing the inevitable, Mahalai sent Sigurd to one of her tagged simian-ruled planet.
Holding a pure and ancient god-seed relic, Sigurd sought for a Mastersmith to forge him a weapon to surpass the met-- err the Blightlust. 

a week later, Sigurd comes back only to find out that his home planet has been seized. The Celestials turtling for the last line of defense, he quests to purge the blight with his trusty new weapon.

With the successful forge, Mahalai had a plan to purify the corrupted crystals.

A very long time ago, when their home planet's magnetic force was so unstable, wars were fought in the skies, cities and communities float in their own islands and Celestials had longer functional Baagwys (the wings on the sides of their head)

Levitating islands were made into fleets fueled by Crystals used to patrol the skies and harbored soldiers. These were often called Grand Sigils as these types of crystals act as master keys that can revive or purify malfunctioning sacred crystals. 

When Sigurd was out getting the weapon forged, Mahalai scouted one of these Grand Sigils and reckon with the forged relic, it can once again operate.

in the mockup image above, you can see that the Sigil has a travel range per turn. You can backtrack, sidetrack or go straight to the actual missions. Each turn, a battle will take place and you will need to defend the crystal at the other end of the floating island.

In the tech-demo, the stage is endless. There will be some missions like those where Sigurd needs to descend and fight bosses. But on a normal run, you will be limited to the size of the floating island.

Magic (mockup name only)

Magic does not exist in Divine Arms. There is always a scientific reasoning on how elements act and react. Head over to the Discord server if you want to see some of the lore.

But, yeah they do refer to it as magic. They are a religious bunch after all.

But speaking of magic, YES Sigurd will cast spells and slice enemies with his sword.

Redemptio is what happens when my samurai hack-and-slash Forbidden Arms  fucks my Magic TD WitchHunt.


Inverse Relic:

Mahalai found a mysterious and unknown relic (a size of a small pebble) within the base of the Grand Sigil's island. She could not examine it and thought it was broken, but reacted vigorously in Sigurd's presence. She gave it to Sigurd and he fucking swallowed it. Thought it was wiagra.

It gave him the strange ability to turn his enemies to the opposite sex.

The caveat is, when you get a game over, it turns Sigurd to Siggy... so we all know what comes next after that.



Extra Info:

The demo is sized at 800x600.
The new target dimension will be 960x720. (including the animated lewds!)
There will be a limited amount of enemies since this is after all a small game.
However, we plan to make it episodic if it turns out good once the initial episode gets done.  

We will soon take suggestions to what enemies get in game. Remember that this is a Blightlust portal. The enemy can be any male character from anywhere! And we'll lewd the shit out of him. 
Yes, Sigurd was inspired from Jojo. He's not gay, really.
There is a good chance this game gets to be developed on Unity from the start basing on the tech demo codes. Assets will just be transferred over. I also did the sprite work for Sigurd and it was a pain to do, I'm not giving it a 2.5D make over.



Unity porting is currently being handled by our new guys.
(Will not name them yet, because... you know, I wanna make sure they stay first and sign the contract once they've initially proved themselves for the project.)

I will however be doing animated lewds for Redemptio and another set of animated lewds for another small game. I got Daryll transferred in this other game since he doesn't know unity. 

I'll show off the animations soon, but i am getting quite good with it.

The other game has no title yet but we'll try to sell this on steam and other platforms. If we're lucky enough, the money we can get from here will make us hire and outsource an entire animation team. They are pricey at the moment $48,000 for a full package, but i'd like to set it as a goal because I want a fucking Divine Arms one-shot OVA. (once I get their per second quote, I'll also try to hire them for future in-game lewds too)

Demo was quite fun althoug it could be just me or there is too many moves, like the standing charge slash and the flame slash could be the same move (press and hold 1 then at max power it adds the flame effect). As is it could be a good game with some polish like adding some invincibility frames after 3 consecutive hits (at least 3 times in the boss after a hit the zombies kept juggling me in mid air) or making the enemies slightly slower to make air combos more viable

good ideas! as for the enemies air juggling you, there will soon be a faster air recovery upgrade, but you can also use the Blink Shift ability to reset atm.

I still hoping if you could hired an animator, because even if your animate skill will improve to Chris level (I hope so), it will still sacrifice the time for programming it will slow down the progress that already slow.....

i'm not programming anymore. We have newly hires for that including the unity ports. I wish it was easy hiring an animator, nowadays they are either not into adult or already have their own campaign. it is easier to hire coders.

Very nice demo. The hack and slash is done well, the animations are smooth, the combos are quick to link, and without a mana meter I can teleport so high in the sky it takes me forever to buzz saw down lol. Honestly, without the mana meter the game is definitely broken with Sigurd being OP, but it was fun. Throwing ninja stars infinitely and teleporting everywhere while doing it was a blast. The boss attacks were cool too. I like that you added a function when he scoops up or stomps it also sends the minions flying. Little touches like this are really nice and immersive. Honestly, I'm not one to give too much criticism until a full work comes out. This obviously is fun in it's own little right. Well done.

did I miss something, I thought alya will be there for future animation in divine arms? :o for this game I dont mind you dont ve an animator... cuz you arent bad at all its very enjoable to watch c:

it doesnt need flash player since its alread an exe. try run as admin.

she has her own game. she's still not that good with animation, so i had to take the wheel, but her own game will have stills and very basic animations. for now she's helping with designs and requests. I'll probably be the one to do divine arms (unity port) sex animations. she'll have to do something on her own where's she's comfortable doing. (theme, game, etc.)

I think the movement controls could be tighter. Platforming and fighting is almost always more fun if the character responds quickly and precisely to your inputs.
