Campaign was down again for a day. Mahalai's butt in a youtube video thumbnail got us banned. Dafuq is going on with Patreon? I see a ton of nsfw campaigns with worse offenses and are yet to be suspended. smh

Anyway, some news incoming. Chris Armin has officially left the team to pursue other stuff. In the 2 years of his stay he was able to finish 8 total animations, so that's about 1 finished piece every 3 months.

Fret not as we have someone to fill the role, but will need your further understanding of how things will play out.

Replacing Chris is Alya. She's in contract with us for 3 years minimum.
There will be some 25+ samples ahead so do check out her work before I explain how this goes.

Now I'm sure most of you are impressed as I was but I also have the same question: Can she animate?

And that's where I'm bringing this news to all patrons for Alya's setup and entrance to ViperV. Short answer is she can. However her previous employment were all illustrative. She is eager to learn and is asking a month or two to study while delivering game over scenes or requests for non-animated illustrative content til she is ready.

Despite her interest, she never got to hone the craft fully because all her works before were for posters, books and illustrative purposes. Also all the animations above are RAW natural instinct. Something she did by just observing visually. 

Anyway, I already sent her some tutorials and videos to start learning and also mailed her this:

which will get to her in a day or two. I'm sue it will help her as much as it helped me.

Another news is I also have a brief contract with Daryl, an old friend of mine who also worked with me on safe for work flash games back in the day. He has already dissected one of my engines and will make a separate bite-size game for us. 

Whatever Alya learns and lewd animations produced will be for that game until she gets confident enough to take the mantle for animating Divine Arms. 

While Daryl and Alya are producing something else, I will continue populating the stages and adjusting the current game for 2.0


I've also designed new enemies for the next biomes.
The planet unofficially named sehcrot dna skrofhctip has barely been around a billion years, so parasites and creatures alike are very much an abundance, coexisting with the invasive humans or competing for the food chain order. (in the future, we'll show human cities where blood hunters and all enemies are also sexually sold and abused and some are even part of an Inn's menu)

New unnamed enemy number one:
Is a Squidtacle parasite that preys on fishermen. Becomes highly intelligent when they overtake the host's brain. Even uses giant pearls as magical mediums to conjure. 


New unnamed enemy number two and three: 

We'll call it Lustwurm for now. But pretty much the same as the rapevine. Only this time, instead of replacing hosts, the lustworm binds the host along its metamorphosis to become one with it.


Anyway, that's all for now. Feel free to lower or remove your pledge if you are unhappy with this news, but for those who will stay, thank you for giving Alya a chance to learn and also pursue animation. She loved the project so much (despite unable to finish the cave area lol) and will probably stay with the team for good as I also made a good deal with her if she continues to stay after the contract.

I will continue to do the rest of the content for Divine Arms, worry not. You will still get non-animated lewd pieces from Alya and I'll take suggestions like voting to what you'd like her to draw while learning to animate.

I will also update Alya's progress weekly, so check it out here on the campaign feed. I myself would like to see how she'll grow from everyone's support.

Once Daryl also gets to a playable state, i'll let everyone play it as well.

I think that Alya will do a great job, if she did those animations just by observing, I believe she will do amazing work if she studies it fully!

I am curious about the animations. As an artist myself I do like semi-realistic artworks like those of Chris, but I am for equal opportunity and fairness. So Alya, blow my mind.

Let’s do this. A girl’s touch could be great for this kind of stuff. However. I’d like to see some of her progress in the animation department as we go. Her style is a lot different than Chis’ which may or may not muddle the aesthetic Divine Arms currently has. Hopefully it’s awesome! Would love to see more ganker scenes, an oral blood hunter scene (huge missed opportunity as of now, as well as the new creatures which look really fun.

I do have a question, on what percentage is this game in terms of finished product? I keep off on playing it now because i want to play it when it's 100% done. Will there be even more monsters and animated lews scenes? If so I CAN T WAIT. I did like the the now gone animator, but i'm super optimist about the new one. And as a final question, will your team, after finishing this game, make more games of the similar genre? Animated and all? Thank you, I'll repledge now cause now I have the money

Her previous works and DA samples look great, and I even think her style is closer to your original one compared to Chris's! He made some amazing scenes, but it looks like Alya will be just as skillful!

Chris Armin was a very good and talented animator... but who the fuck is alya never heard about her... but her examples, her works are AMAZING! What a really really great replacement. I wish her/him the best luck and an enjoyable time here, such a great potential and talent is rare! Her work could might be better than Chris work o.o With her as animator I will definitely continue to support you, still impressed how you got such a talented persons, I wish her and you really the best

I mean, as long as you don't get rid of Chris's stuff like you did with the stuff before him (Can we get that stuff back, too, by the way?), I'll be dandy. They were really good. Especially the tar ball and mushroom beast. At least include them in an "old animation" section or something. Even if I have to unlock them by finding an easter egg. That's better than never. That being said, welcome Alya, and good luck Chris! EDIT: Just realized that the planet name is Pitchforks and Torches backwards. Lol. Great stuff. I was not part of that mob, by the way...

I'm not a fan at all of the way the new artist draws faces or their art style(realistic). They're missing that charm that Chris had and it looks like generic western art, which I'm not too fond of. Sadly I'll have to drop support till some animations come out and see if they're worth supporting. With how long it takes for new animations to be released I just can't commit to spending money on this project when I'm really not liking the the art samples from the new artist. Best of luck to you both and I hope the new artist proves me wrong, but we'll have to see, for now though I'm out.

While there's still much to be seen of what the new artist can do, I'm happy with her style and am eager to see what she'll be doing in the future. On the other hand, I would've been happier if she was doing the artwork/animations of a fresh new game. No blame intended towards any of the team, but it seems like things have gotten out of hand and this game seems FAR too big now, even if it's of high quality. I would've been perfectly satisfied with Divine Arms as a shorter one-level or one-world game if that could've meant closing the chapter on it and moving on. You wouldn't have to stop using the same characters either, just make this an episodic thing.

Unfortunate... I stayed with this game primarily for Chris' art &amp; animations, and I'm not a fan of the generic style of the new artist/animator... Sadly, I'll have to unpledge. RIP. Gonna have to make sure I don't lose the current animation gallery.

The only real thing I'm worried about concerning the new artist is the faces...they seem kinda manly. Maybe it's just me, though. On a positive note, I am definitely interested in seeing more of the new monsters. P.S. (I'm a freak.)

im not to sure about this, i really enjoyed the art work and how the faces were really cute from chris... i would haft to see more of his art colored to have an actual opinion on it. but im really unsure. not saying hes a bad artist but its like anything changeing their art style it just feels wrong.

I actually really like Alya's style! Based on her figure studies, she seems to have a very strong understanding of anatomy. I know some people said her examples are a little "realistic" but that just means she has a good foundation. I'm sure she can replicate the previous style pretty easily. Really looking forward to her work! Does she have an Instagram or deviantart I can follow? Or does she only have a tumbler?

This is probably the main game i'm following on Patreon because the potential is huge for a good game with amazing lewd scenes. I loved the animation in the first original demo i ever played, then it seemed like the animation was changed in subsequent builds, however i came to love that animation aswell. Ayla's style looks amazing and the samples shes done for Divine Arms so far look amazing. I look forward to seeing more work from her ^_^

Yao.. Ikr ? what i'm seeing of Alya right now is wonderful but is clashing with Original style.. we all pray that she'll try her best to tilt her style for this very only one, chris had divine arms nailed and i'm certain it has to be completed like how it began... Good luck to Alya!

Damn, she's pretty good. (Anybody who can capture the badass-ness of Goro Majima in a simple drawing is alright in my book.) And I personally enjoy this artstyle better than Chris'.
