I was wondering if another issue is that the human head is held down by gravity. If one was strong enough to lift a human by the jaw they might just decapitate the liftee.

What if the lifter had some kind of magnetic boots that anchored them to the floor? Could they prevent tipping over if they had sufficient body tension? (or rather, is the sufficient body tension humanly possible?) Aside from that, I'd say one could grab a railing or something behind themselves with their free hand in order to prevent tipping over, but that's not very cool and we don't see Vader do it. Doing a lunge of sorts so that one of your feet is below the liftee should also work, but again, we don't see that being done, because it looks and probably is akward.
