A question in relation to this and episode 1... If a star collapses into a black hole, is it possible to be far enough away that the gravity of the black hole could change the space time location of everything around it without destroying said things? In the mirror episode you said that it would take a year for the light to reflect from the mirror and a year to return to Earth so would a black hole suck things in fast enough before "dissolving" or would it just move the objects closer to their relative location before "dissolving"? Another question along with this... If black holes WERE in fact moving things before dissolving, would all objects close enough to move... move the same distance or would the force bringing the objects in change in relation to distance? It's hard for me to explain but let's say you have two magnets trying to attract one another but they are being held in place. Then, you vacuum up one of the magnet making the other magnet get vacuumed up as well but as soon as the magnets reach the vacuum you shut it off. Wouldn't both magnets move the same distance at the same speed or am I mistaken about something? Probably a stupid question but just wanted a smarter person's opinion! Thank you for everything you do!
