Just to quell some worries, I believe I've figured out a way to circumvent my workflow problem. 

Essentially, I used a free program called FUSE to create my models, since it was simple and fast. I could export the models to a rigging site called Mixamo which added bones and facial controls. The function Adobe killed was being able to upload from FUSE to Mixamo. I can still export models from the program, but without the facial rigging. 

The solution is to just use one of my previous models I've exported as a base and sculpt any changes to the model in Cinema 4D rather than FUSE before exporting it to Mixamo. I've already tested it, and it looks like it keeps the facial controls even after rigging. 

I'll still take some time to get my footing again, but this won't be the end of my projects as we know it.
