This is definitely one of my favorite Painted Lady shoots! I know a lot of them are :p

I talked to Brandon from House of Choppers at Born Free last year about using his bike for a Painted Lady shoot. It a beautiful super clean Panhead. Show quality. I was a little stumped on the inspiration for it since it was all red and my last Painted Lady had a lot of red body paint. Some months went by and he hit me us letting me know he's about to change it up so we would need to shoot it real soon. It was the push I needed to make it happen. It had been 7 month since my last shoot.

I've had this idea to do a Chicano La style Painted Lady for a while. My friend Eric's family has an insane collection and they are a huge family from south central. His uncle has this beautiful red Impala that I felt would go great with the bike.

The model needed to be legit and make sense for the culture I wanted to celebrate. Alina and I had found each other on IG. I knew she had to be a Painted Lady. Her style is impeccable and she just seemed like a cool person. Turns out she's even cooler in person. We hit it off.

Styling was pretty easy because she had everything I needed in her closet.

I wanted to go with a really classic tattoo inspiration. Laugh now, Cry Later. I used a drawing by my friend Mario Aguilar (Midtown Tattoo) There's a ton of versions of it but I liked how simple and sinister his looked. So I referenced it for the paint.

We ended up finding two amazing shoot locations in Elysian Park. The first spot with the palm trees had to be quick because the park ranger didn't like us blocking the road haha but I was able to shoot a bunch! Then we moved to the second location down the road with an insane lookout.

I shot five rolls of film and a lot of digitals so get ready!!

New issue of my Painted Lady Magazine to come out early May. This shoot will be featured in it and on the cover :)

Thank you for the endless support!
