Hello! How is everyone doing? Apologies for this week, it should have been a patch BUT, there's a very big one coming so in the next one we will for sure get that stuff in. I didn't want to do a double patch, one this week and one next week. We are looking at a few big things:

1. Cooking
2. Experience gain (player interests)
3. Grocery store
4. Smarter NPCs (they will look more natural and interact with objects in the world more convincingly).

I am happy to say this week’s update is full of cool new stuff, all related to cooking and food. The upcoming release has been a long time in the making because we know how cooking will be important for gameplay as a whole, so we really wanted to structure it well and consider what could make it as much fun as possible!

👩🏻‍🍳 Cooking 👩🏻‍🍳

Preparing food in Little Sim World will require you to combine different ingredients on a stove. Players will be able to add up to 3 different ingredients to their cooking pot and, if there is a recipe that takes the selected items, it will be shown in the cooking UI and will be ready for cooking. If it’s your first time preparing any given food it will appear as an unknown recipe, and you should cook it to discover what it turns into!

🛍️ LetsGo Grocery Store 🛍️

With cooking I am also bringing in the Grocery Store as well! Our new shop will open just south of Bedford Square Garden. Here you will be able to purchase raw ingredients for your kitchen adventures and more! It looks extra lively with our new NPCs roaming around and shopping for things themselves, so you will have company while browsing through the store.

Star Coffee

On the same block as LetsGo I am also bringing in Star Coffee, Little Sim World’s very own coffee shop! Here players can hang around and buy their favorite coffee and tea beverages, and find some tasty snacks as well 🍩

So yep, a lot of things are coming your way so please look forward to our next release!

Thanks for joining us this week! (•ө•)♡

I'm always more excited about a huge patch anyway, take your time!

This looks awesome Terry and is exactly what I was hoping for. Great job. I do have a question however. Is there a way to add a layer or something over the houses and stores that would make the rain invisible? I think it would be better to only see the rain beyond the walls. It kind of looks like it's raining indoors. It's a minor thing really, so no problem either way. Keep up the GREAT work.

Looks amazing! I really am hoping that later on with the game that we can work jobs as well. Jobs like delivering orders, pizza, food, and being a cashier and stock member.

Thanks! Literally coming in 2 weeks the next patch. I think early next year we will have some properly fleshed out systems

littlesimworld

Thanks a bunch! So what you suggested was what we did originally, and we actually didn't have rain go through the buildings at first. I can tell you it looked... really weird and wrong like it was being cut off randomly

littlesimworld

yeah! exactly. we will get some regular jobs too such as what you described over time, because it reflects what a lot of people actually do. we will add those jobs as not 'careers' but jobs you can start at any time. so if you have time to kill, you can just hop in and do the job for any number of hours you'd like

I love the idea that you learn recipes by trying them out! It makes your gain of cooking skills much more fun to discover the recipes instead of just being given them for a level gain.
