Hey everyone,

Just letting you know the new video is available to patrons! This one talks about the recently released Disney+ documentary on Hideo Kojima, called Connecting Worlds—how, as a longtime fan of his work, this documentary (as well as his book) solidified some thoughts I have had about his creative trajectory, his cosying up to the film industry, and the concerns that potentially raises for his games going forward.

Thanks so much for your patience while I finished this off—as previously stated, don't worry, you will not be charged for this post.

[EDIT] Had a minor panic when I posted this and saw "paid for by members" appear underneath—rest assured, I believe this simply means that I made it available to "paid" members as opposed to "free" members (still not sure what the deal is with people joining the Patreon for free but that's another story). Either way, I made sure to set it so this wasn't a charged post, so worry not!

[EDIT 2] Checked previous posts like this and they all say the same, so I can confirm the above to be true—you won't be charged for this post. Phew.

Still undecided as to whether I'll actually make this public or not thanks to continuing anxiety around the kind of response such a video might generate from the fanbase. Sucks, but hey, it means that all of you—thanks to your generous support—allowed me to make a video that I would otherwise not have made! I think that rules!

Plus I might just say "screw it" and put it up and then turn my phone off for several days, who knows.

Anyway, thank you all so much once again, you all rule, and I'm gonna get back to making the next video!

Thanks again,

Hamish

I understand your anxiety over the potential response. I guess the people who need to see this the most are the ones affected by the cult of personality, but of course they're the ones most likely to lash out at you for pointing it out. I don't know what you should do, but not reading some youtube comments isn't the end of the world I guess.
