A new review is live folks! Much ado has been made about Stranger of Paradise leading up to its release, and the absolute field day twitter has been having with its absolutely ludicrous cutscenes actually got me interested in checking it out. Whether it was going to be secretly genius or so-bad-it's-good, I bought a little too much into the hype, and came away a little disappointed with Stranger of Paradise just because the actual game is so...well, normal. Just a fairly straightforward and solid 7/10 action game.

As for what's on the horizon, I've gotten a surprising number of requests for more Ukraine bundle diving. So hey, maybe it's time for a sequel.

How Fast Does Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin Get Good?

Leading up to its release, Stranger of Paradise had an extremely turbulent and divisive marketing campaign, but just about everyone agreed that it was going to be a uniquely insane dive into a truly strange project. But sadly, uniqueness is the one front Stranger of Paradise disappoints on. It is, in fact, a quite good action game with as ephemeral a story as the original Final Fantasy it reimagines, marking it as a fairly safe and basic AAA release. It'll please and entertain, but don't expect to be wowed by something new.
