We're back to our usually scheduled reviews folks, and I had to take the first chance I could to go back and check out Necrobarista. And boy am I glad I did, because this game is an absolute gem. I was so utterly wowed by this game's artistic direction that I spent half my review going on about it — and I almost never want to sit around and talk graphics! But in all honesty, it's almost too easy to call Necrobarista a leap forward for visual novels in general, and all it took was a camera and someone damn good at using it. And I haven't even mentioned that it has a pretty solid, if meandering, plot to boot! Needless to say, I really enjoyed my time with this one, and I hope you guys will, too.

In addition to all that, I had some fun tweaking around the intro format a little bit. I think with these few tweaks my introductions will be a bit more engaging, but it does add several hours of work on top, so we'll see if the viewer retention shows if the extra work is worth it longterm.

I'm not entirely sure what'll be up next. I was hoping to tackle Fall Guys, but I think with how thoroughly the game has taken the internet by storm, nobody really needs a two-week-late take on the hottest multiplayer rage, so I'll probably poke my nose around and see what else is going on this week. Until then!

Necrobarista Review: One Giant Leap

Today's review is on Necrobarista, a game that gets far more mileage out of the simple introduction of a camera than any game has any right to. Necrobarista's camerawork doesn't just elevate it head and shoulders above the average visual novel — it shoots it past even fellow peers like The Walking Dead and Life is Strange for sheer artistic direction. And that's before we even get into the story all these technical accomplishments are in service of, which has plenty of charm of its own. If you couldn't already tell that I really enjoyed this one, then you're about to find out in this First Five review!
