What is this, a third Musical Autopsy in only 3 months? Crazy, it's like I'm back to what people thought my old self was! (jokes aren't funny when you explain them, but people who discovered me back in 2012 - 2014 from my Worst Songs videos would always complain a couple years later that I wasn't "doing as many Musical Autopsies as I used to", despite the fact that every year I always did 6, generally one every 2 months, they just didn't realize it because when they first discovered me they binge watched all of my music related content).

ANYWAY, enjoy this look at Taylor Swift's "The Man", a good 24 hours earlier than everyone else. And hopefully I'll see you tonight for the live show!

Musical Autopsy: Taylor Swift - The Man

Support Buckley: http://patreon.com/DoseofBuckley Doc Buckley sets his scalpels on another 2020 hit, Taylor Swift's latest single "The Man". Taylor complains that she could have been even more successful and could have done it quicker if she was born a male, but... could she have?

I love Musical Autopsy! Looking forward to listening to this after I'm off this effing conference call. Gotta love the work-from-home life right about now. Thanks, Buckley!

"Some potato face like Lewis Capaldi" absolutely killed me!

Buckley is the type of person I would want to narrate my life. I feel like he would really make you think about everything you've done, both good and bad lol. The man can be pretty savage.

it's not often that Buckley has a video wher I agree with literally every single thing that he said. However, this video hits the nail on the head for me so hard

Soooo I never knew what Lewis Capaldi looked like until now. Oy.

More papa Cuckley content! Hell yes. 👀

I can't wait until a pre-teen boy covers this song and makes it take on a whole new meaning.

$1 tier should be called a microdose. Change my mind.

Taylor Swift has got to be one of my most dislikeble people in music. Never doing anything other than whinging.

Imagine living in a fantasy world where you made it to the very top, leaving your peers in the large shadow you cast, and then complain how much easier your life would be if you were a man.

doseofbuckley

I had considered that, but because I made a bonus feature called "The MicroDOSE", I didn't want to confuse people.

God I fucking hate Patreon exclusive content. I enter the link from my email, it loads me Buckley's post list, in the top right corner it says I'm logged on, I click on the content and that fucker displays a page to join Buckleys patreons. When I click the "already have an account? log in" it says it doesn't recognize my device so I need to go back to my email, click the fucking verify link, then it goes back to Patreon with me logged, I need to search for Buckley again and then click the content. And it's the third time this month.

doseofbuckley

Sorry to hear that, that's annoying. Have you tried messaging Patreon about it? Feel like their techs can't be THAT busy right now.

Oooh, new background. Or i have just never noticed the background

This is why I like Buckley. I’m actually a big fan of this song. I think it represents the feelings of several women, not just herself. However, despite being a fan of Her music, I can laugh at Buckley’s jokes about her. He’s right that her singing this doesn’t quite fit with her success (albeit I would content she’s not just speaking as herself in this song, but that aside), and jokes about her songs in the past have made me laugh. Buckley taught me not to be a hypocrite. That it’s good to laugh at things you like and don’t like. My partner recently said he can’t believe I give money to Buckley when he’s called Swift fan stupid on multiple occasions. I told him that I don’t have to agree with him to laugh. You don’t get cheer when he’s doing something you agree with and then get pissy when he does the exact same thing to something you enjoy. Buckley hasn’t changed my love of Taylor’s music, but he’s kept me from ever becoming a groupie.

Oh yes it appeared in the Nicki Minaj - Yikes Autopsy as well. I think it adds a little to it.
