Back again with another thing you might have already purchased/heard before, but I want to start getting some of this stuff up on my Patreon as well for those that either signed up here and haven't heard it before, or maybe lost their copy, or whatever. This is my first (and to date, only) "stand-up" special, recorded back in 2016 at a comic book convention in my home town.

A fun story from this convention: I met Aron Eisenberg (Nog from Deep Space Nine) at this con, his son had contacted me via Facebook and asked me to sign something, which seemed pretty unusual to me, I was going to sign something for a celebrity's kid. I did my usual self-deprecating humor about being "just a YouTube celebrity", and he gave me some very encouraging words about how "if you're connecting with an audience, it doesn't matter where it is, this younger generation, YouTube is what they're watching, you're what they're watching". I signed a water bottle for his son (I don't know what the significance was), shook his hand and left. Sadly, Aron passed away late last year, but it's a story I'll always remember, this guy who was in one of the most legendary sci-fi franchises of all time trying to reassure me that I was a real celebrity, and me doing my usual "yeah I don't know about any of that" routine, and then going and doing this routine where I talk shit about YouTube celebrities. Buckley ignoring the advice of people who've been in the game longer than him... classic Buckley.

This is getting really wordy, but I did want to start making other promises here so that I actually have to keep them. I'm going to start doing the regular Patreon "early access" thing very soon, you guys will get access to my newest videos (or at least the audio, or maybe it'll be a little of both) before everyone else. It might vary how much earlier, I'll try and always do 24 hours, sometimes it might even be earlier. I'm also thinking up ideas for the live stream, for tiers, and some sort of physical "rewards", so more on that soon. But in the meantime, enjoy Lifestyles of the YouTube Famous, and I've got TWO Doses coming out this week.

Whoa!!! More Buckley! :)

Yes!!! I have been wanting to listen to this for so long but I could never get bandcamp to work in my car.

Anonymous

I. Love. This. Bought on BandCamp in 2018. This makes my shift at work go by so much faster.

Anonymous

Never got round to buying this one! Thanks Buckley!

Thanks buck, i've bought a couple of your audio tracks before but never got around to getting this one 😁

Love hearing your stuff. There is a lot of content from back in the day I wanted to buy but didn't ever get around to it so this stuff is nice.

Anonymous

Already bought this on Bandcamp but lost my account so this is a good way to relisten

Anonymous

This is awesome, most likely gonna go buy some of the other content now. :)

I was a bit intimidated by the fact it's an hour long. But it's great and you have a good stage presence. It barely feels like an hour passed.

Great job, I really enjoyed it!

I suggested it on another post with the Rihanna Musical Autopsy but at risk of sounding repetitive, if for a different reason, you could upload them as unlisted and then list them at the 'public release' and post the link on patreon. I know a few guys who do it that way (well specifically the guys who do Good Bad or Bad Bad). You run the risk of people distributing the link before the 'public' release of the video, which would probably spread quicker than if someone downloaded the mp3 audio and gave it to people for download, but it's an option. Sidebar but it's great to see you back and posting again regularly on Youtube.

I've considered this, obviously no matter which way I do it I run the risk of someone distributing it early (the risk is relatively minimized by the fact that any channel who has stolen my shit gets like 30 views, or if they just posted the link, who are they posting it to? Same deal, the risk is that maybe 30 extra people see my video early without paying, and someone had to pay to get the link in the first place). Patreon allows for two things with video: exactly what you're talking about (put up an unlisted YouTube link) or using Vimeo (which also allows for unlisted links). The problem with Vimeo of course is the cost, there's a monthly fee to make it actually usable (otherwise you only get a few gig and I think you can upload like 500mb a week). But I'm willing to give it a shot, if it completely ruins the experience I can figure something else out, but I think the people here who are spending money are typically going to be cool, they clearly want to help provide a great experience. If they share the link with their friends a day or two early and their friends aren't paying? Well... Netflix has to deal with people sharing accounts, so the day I start having the same problems as Netflix I think I'm doing ok.

I haven't watched this yet, but I just wanted to say that (a) that's a cool story, it's always nice to see celebs be nice people, and (b) for the record you've been doing an excellent job with the patreon content so far. Thanks for the awesome work, and once again, it's great to have you back in business. Not to say that the axe throwing was bad, I actually enjoyed that. :P

This was actualy quite funny. You seemed nervous and it wasn't super smooth or anything, but you had some solid jokes and good delivery.

I love this

I thought I bought all your stuff in the past but I don’t remember this. I liked it, definitely cool listening to a live performance

Mass bought all your stuff on band camp when this first came out. Glad to have it back since i lost all the downloads do to dead laptops and phones and having no idea if i can redownload it from band camp again without paying though when i get the money i'll probably just rebuy it all again.

doseofbuckley

Well as long as you're a Patron, you won't have to. I'm going to eventually reupload most of it (some of it can be listened to for free on Bandcamp now) and you can download it that way too.

Love this

I don't care that i paid for your entire "discography" on bandcamp I'm happy you do what you do. Props to you for that interaction and stuff Adam :D

You seemed a bit nervous but I loved listening to an hour of you ranting. Your stand up style reminds me a lot of Lewis Black - can you tell I have a preference for angry comedy?

Anonymous

Wow, I remember hearing it at around 2016, loved it then, love it now.

Nightbreeze

Just joined the Patreon and went back to look at stuff I missed. Not a bad job back then; you had a little slump towards the middle of the stand-up (which you called out in the jokes), but I think it started strongly and ended pretty well. Also, I'm not sure I've ever come across you answering someone's question without rambling longer than intended, haha.
