How people seem to make it "happy." People should be saying Good Memorial Day or Blessed Memorial Day. Memorial Day is done in humble observation of our fallen who made the ultimate sacrifice for this country. All gave some, but some gave all. However, people are free to observe how they wish. I spent twenty two years protecting those rights.

Though not specific to either Memorial Day, or Veteran's Day, I find this general concept particularly disturbing. I live in Minnesota, which is known for being liberal and "Minnesota Nice," which really implies passive/aggression. Minnesotans just tend not to always be directly confrontational. Anyway, I find it particularly disturbing that companies find veterans to be toxic. We are labeled with "toxic masculinity," and it is a form of job discrimination. Some employers will seem to implicitly go out of their way to avoid hiring us because of the afore mentioned label. Way too many veterans out there are homeless, and on the streets, among people who are truly toxic. So many homeless people choose that life, and they resort to alcohol, drugs, and crime. It makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever that the most talented people in any society, which would be military veterans from any country, are left to their own devices out on the streets. These are the people you want to fill quality jobs. By defending their country, they worked very hard for it, and have earned that place. I think my point here is unequivocally clear. Our veterans really do deserve better. Please do employ a veteran.
