James, RIP Brother. Dudes, y’all ain’t alone. Many of us vets have been there. I remember vividly the day I stood in the shower with my duty gun in my mouth. I remember the cold of the steel on my top teeth and the coolness of the plastic from my Glock on my lower teeth. My finger had taken all the slack out of the trigger and I was probably 1lb of pressure left on the trigger and I would have ended it all. The thing that saved me was my wife breaking down bathroom door and stopping me. I was at rock bottom. Counseling helped me immensely. Find help, brothers, find it! There is zero shame in seeking help. Zero! Please, for your sake, if you find yourself heading down that dark path, many of us have been there before. There IS a light for you. Find it. Hold on to it. You are not alone.
