In regards to the Red Rooster, you have to watch the weekly episodes to get a full understanding of the story. Bobby took in Terry Taylor to prove that he could take a mediocre/novice wrestler and make them a star. In the initial promo with Mean Gene, I believe, Bobby said that Taylor had decent physique, wrestling skills, etc and that he could make him better. Taylor was skeptical of what Bobby was saying, but was willing to let some stuff he said slide for the opportunity to be managed by the Brain. Eventually Bobby calls him the "Red Rooster" and its very apparent that Taylor doesn't like the name, but he's going to grin and bear it. Bobby doesn't think very highly of him, especially when he starts losing matches, and eventually you get to the whole blow off, and Bobby gets pissed and takes on Brawler to show Taylor that he can do what he tried with Taylor with the Brawler and the Brawler will kick Taylor's ass. That's the story. Bruce really doesn't seem to remember the real story. The problem with the storyline is that once Rooster & Bobby split, Rooster should have forsaken his name, and been called Terry Taylor again, because it was clear that the kayfabe character of Taylor hated the name. From there that leads to babyface Red Rooster, looking like a jerkoff because he's strutting around using a name that was given to him by Heenan as an insult. Which made him as a babyface dead on arrival for viewers at the time. I swear WWF ("at the time") think fans have short term memories.

“The Blue Blazer is not long for this world” - probably not the best choice of words…
