On this episode of 83Weeks, Eric and Conrad watch back the IMPACT episode from January 4, 2010 when TNA decided to go head-to-head against the WWE! It's Hulk Hogan's debut on TV, the epic Steel Asylum match featuring Homicide getting stuck, Jeff Hardy's return, Sean Waltman, Scott Hall. Plus, Eric and Ric Flair's debut in TNA, Mick Foley, Jeff Jarrett and WWE having Bret Hart return running against it!

I get that AEW being watchable is good for Conrad’s business, but Eric is spot-on here and Conrad’s constant ‘come he’ll or high water’ defense of AEW is killing these podcasts. It’s about time to cancel the subscription. I’m waiting for the Tony Khan ‘Yes I’m Great, Now Conrad Why Do You Think I’m Great’ podcast.

I like Eric and I've come to respect a lot of his decisions over the year based on learning his perspective here on 83 Weeks but he comes off very arrogant here by shitting on everything TNA was about while admitting he hadn't watched any of the product coming into it. He says all his changes and suggestions were based of his likes and preferences which I can't imagine were inline with most wrestling fans at that time. I'm glad Conrad pushed back on him shitting on the six sided ring and the X Division. This episode of Impact was precisely the beginning of the end of my TNA Fandom because everything I liked about TNA was stripped away and it now resembled WCW which had died for a reason. Makes for a fun podcast episode though.
