Today we’re going to be discussing another supergroup you ended - the New World Order and your time in it in late 1999 and 2000.

For those to pick up where the story begins - make sure you check out our episode in the archives at AdFreeShows.com called “Joining Russo’s WCW.”

We left off at your World Heavyweight Title match against Bret Hart in Auburn Hills in Bret’s first title defense of the WCW Title. With you joining WCW at around the same time as Vince Russo - how was Vince adjusting to WCW as you could tell?

At this point you’re a little more than a month into WCW…the idea or proposition of a nWo rehash been brought up to you?

It seems like you have a lot going on creatively. In your loss to Bret you had Dustin Rhodes come out and cost you the match but you also have Ron & Don Harris - known then as Creative Control - in your corner and it’s reported that the working plan is you’ll be having a guitar on a pole match against Buff Bagwell at Starrcade. That is probably one of the longest sentences regarding anyone’s creative I’ve ever read on any of my podcasts. Is this just too much?

Creative Control being named Patrick & Gerald as obvious takes off of Pat Patterson & Gerald Brisco…what did you think of that?

Why did Russo like to put things on poles?

Bret and Goldberg are becoming unlikely allies at this time in the build up to the formation of the nWo. There’s always been a lot of stories, rumor and innuendo regarding Bret being unhappy throughout his WCW tenure. Can you speak to that?

On a WCW Live show you’re asked by a caller what you were most surprised by in wrestling, and your response was, “I’m amazed that Van Hammer still has a job.” What did Van Hammer do to you Jeff?

It’s reported in the Torch that Russo spent most of his time talking to, and I quote, “top names and former WWF’ers Jeff Jarrett, Dustin Rhodes and Creative Control.” I’ll just leave that there.

The beginnings of the nWo angle seem to start to form on November 29th in Denver at the Pepsi Arena. You end up cutting open Mike Tenay backstage with a guitar shot legit and then you help Scott Hall retain his US title over Sid when you hit Sid with a guitar but end up getting speared and jackhammered by Goldberg for the save. Was this the beginning of the nWo angle or is that giving Russo too much credit for long term planning?

I ask that because the Outsiders begin to start to interfere to help Bret retain the WCW title but Bret makes it seem like he’s not asking for or wanting the help. Was the plan always to have you 4 be the nWo or was it a constant evolution of concept and ideas?

Later on that night on Nitro you’re in a 3-way between Chris Benoit and Sting which ends in under 4 minutes because wrestling, bro…Dustin comes out to cause your loss by hitting you with the ring bell but it misses horribly and you still go down for the pin. When something like that happens can you walk us through the conversation that happens in the ring? Is there one? Or is it just let’s get to the finish and get the hell out of here?

LATER ON THAT NIGHT…yes Jeff this is all one show…the main event 3-way tag team cage match between Goldberg & Sid taking on Bret & Benoit taking on the Outsiders with Roddy Piper as referee. You come out with a bunch of weapons which would seem weird for a cage match since the cage is supposed to keep people out. Well what do you do? You just walk right in through the door…and hit Piper and Goldberg with guitars. You give Hall & Nash handcuffs and you cuff Hart…but Goldberg spears you and it seems like the cage is supposed to give way but in typical WCW fashion…something doesn’t go right. You recover and lay out Benoit and Nash power bombs Sid and Hall gives Goldberg the Outsiders Edge and good lord Jeff. I’m exhausted.

Bret Hart comes out untouched so this has to be the plan moving forward for the nWo at this point. How much are you involved in this, and how much are Scott, Kevin & Bret?

What did you think of the idea?

It’s announced the next week on Nitro that you’ll be taking on Dustin Rhodes in a Bunkhouse Match at Starrcade. Would you had rather had done a guitar on a pole match against Buff as was speculated?

You open that show with Okerlund in the ring with you and you cut a promo and challenge Bret, Goldberg and even Mike Tenay to come out. Tenay does come out and you let him know you’re not interested in any lawsuits but you attack him anyway and put him in a figure four before Goldberg saves. Is this when you started to begin building your relationship with Mike?

Was Mike hot about getting cut from the guitar? Or was he just a pro?

Later that night you hit Madusa with a guitar and challenge Goldberg for the main event. Working Goldberg in the main event is a big deal just 8 weeks into your WCW run is it not?

Dustin Rhodes defeated Meng via DQ on this show as well after you interfere. Rhodes turns the table and is about to hit shattered dreams but Nash & Hall save. What did Kevin & Scott think of Russo?

Ready to follow this Jeff. This is the closing 20 minutes of this Nitro from the Observer: “Page then wrestled Sid, which lasted about one minute before the worst ref bump of the night. Nash & Hall come out. Fans chanted for Goldberg. Hart came in. Jarrett came in. They still wanted Goldberg. Security came in and the fans booed. Nick Patrick and security then all left. The refs were going on strike. What a novel idea. Piper said he'd ref the Goldberg vs. Jarrett main event and it would be a lumberjack match. Jarrett did a good job and this was the only match on the show to have any heat. Jarrett tried to leave at one point and three members of the Green Bay Packers including Gilbert Brown chased him back. Everyone was interfering. Jarrett hit Goldberg with two chair shots but Goldberg kicked out, to a nice pop. Hart hit Jarrett with the title belt, Goldberg speared Jarrett and went to jackhammer him, and again, nearly lost him at 7:14”

Well Jeff - leaving Green Bay - what are you thinking?

The next night on Thunder you team with…Mona…now known to everyone as Molly Holly to take on Evan Karagis & Madusa. Jeff - what in the hell is this?

You don’t tag in and Mona takes the loss and she hits you with a drop kick so you hit her with a guitar afterwards. That’s all I got.

Come on be honest - are you wondering what the hell you had gotten yourself into at this point?

Nitro on December 13th from New Orleans sees you and Benoit brawling with each other in the backstage area. Then the Artist - Prince Iaukea and Maestro take on each other. From the Observer: “Jarrett killed both guys after with a guitar. Fans popped for this, because they hated both guys. Not sure if Jarrett is getting over. They are popping for him, but the ratings and house shows say nobody is close to being over. But the fans like the guitar breaking on people's heads.”

People did enjoy that Jeff but is the creative working for anyone?

I bring this point up from Meltzer because Wade Keller has an interesting part of this story to add, “Scott Hall and Kevin Nash have been aligned with Jeff Jarrett to try to help them get heel heat. Hall and Nash, though, don’t want to be true heels and as a result will probably hurt Jarrett’s heel heat more than Jarrett will help their heel heat.”

Look at you Jeff giving the rub to Scott & Kev…but did you think they resisted being “True” heels as Wade calls it?

You’re scheduled for a bunkhouse match later on in the night against Chris Benoit. You get the win after Dustin runs in and gets thrown into the ladder Benoit was standing on and you hit both with a guitar and pin Benoit. This is just a ton of gimmicks being thrown together and run-ins. This is Russo’s strength isn’t it?

On Thunder you save Hall & Nash from Sid & Dustin Rhodes before Benoit comes out and eats a guitar shot. Are you surprised you’re not being built to take on Benoit at Starrcade compared to Dustin?

In the main event you team with Scott & Kevin to defeat Sid, Benoit & Dustin when you hit Sid with the guitar and Nash gets the pin. Thunder isn’t well remembered by a lot of fans and rightfully so but this is a big time main event for the show. What do you remember of this?

Meltzer speculates that the reason you were given pyro and a “superstar” entrance was to make you the new Shawn Michaels. Was that the goal?

So here we are at Starrcade…and man is this show a mess. Going into it Scott Hall is hurt and is unable to wrestle against Chris Benoit. Are you asked to replace Scott or volunteered to do so?

Benoit comes out during the show and it’s announced that he’s now United States champion but titles are won and lost in the ring and he’ll still be defending the title on the show.

But first you need to wrestle Dustin…from the Observer:

“8. Jeff Jarrett pinned Dustin Rhodes in 11:21 in a bunkhouse match. There were so many references during the show to Dusty Rhodes that he has to be coming back. Dustin bleached his hair back blond. Jarrett took out Rhodes' knee with a wheelbarrow. Rhodes slammed him in the wheelbarrow. He later clocked Jarrett with the cowbell and posted him. Rhodes took ref Billy Silverman and tied him up with duct tape to the ropes and taped his mouth shut. Hennig came out while Jarrett was whipping Rhodes, to untie the ref and pull the duct tape hard off his mouth. That must have hurt. Jarrett used a 2x4 on Rhodes. They traded near falls until Rhodes used the shattered dreams kick on Jarrett, but Hennig pulled Silverman out of the ring. He then gave Hennig the shattered dreams. The match ended with both men brawling near the entrance way. Rhodes bulldogged Hennig on the floor, but was then prey for Jarrett to come off the ladder that was there for the later ladder match, with a guitar shot on Rhodes for the pin. **½”

What did you think of the match? Were you expecting Dusty to return hence all the references? Were you happy about it?

Does putting this match together change once you know you’re working twice and considering the second match is a ladder match with one of the toughest wrestlers in wrestling…or is it still full steam ahead?

Later on - there’s a Master of the Powerbomb match between Sid & Kevin Nash. You hit Sid with the guitar … because this show doesn’t have enough of you in general … and Nash can’t powerbomb Sid but the referee is bumped. When the ref comes to…Nash points at Sid on the mat and the referee calls for the bell. Holy shit Jeff…this isn’t even something that would be done in Memphis!

Right after you’re up again for your ladder match for the US title against Chris Benoit. Trying to be assistant manager again Jeff?

From the Observer: “12. Chris Benoit either won the vacant U.S. title or retained the title he was given earlier in the show beating Jarrett in a ladder match in 10:15. Excellent match. Benoit suffered a big cut on the bridge of his nose early from getting the ladder dropkicked into his face and not protecting himself, which only made the thing more dramatic as he'd fire back with his face all bloody. Benoit delivered a superplex off the top. Jarrett did sort of a backward superplex on Benoit from the ladder. Jarrett was hung upside down by his legs and the ladder was shoved down. Both took big bumps when the other would knock the ladder down. Benoit took a throat drop on the ropes falling off the ladder while Jarrett crotched himself taking a fall. Benoit climbed and Jarrett dropkicked the ladder and Benoit took a great bump. Benoit came back and delivered a diving head-butt off the top of the ladder, then climbed back up and grabbed the belt to win. ****”

This is the match of Starrcade 1999 that anyone would want to watch because a lot of this show is hot garbage and including Bret Hart being hurt in his match with Goldberg later on but this has to be a feather in your cap right Jeff? Your second match, third appearance and what a match this is!

Again later that night Bret defeats Goldberg by putting him in the sharp shooter and Roddy Piper rings the bell to give Bret the victory and retains the title. What did you think of the show finish?

Did you see Bret after the show or were you already gone? When do you see him next? Could you tell he was all messed up?

The next night on Nitro is when it all comes together. Bret opens the show and announces he’s not interested in winning the WCW title the way he did so he’s giving up the title and will take on Goldberg for the title again that night.

You face Benoit in a rematch for the US title…in another ladder match…and this time get the win and the title. Do you remember if this was the original plan before Scott got injured?

How did it feel to be US Champion again?

From the Observer: “The finish was hilarious. Benoit went to climb the ladder but the steps on both sides broke because the ladder was gimmicked. The funny part is Benoit climbed and waited for the steps to collapse--and they didn't. So he had to stomp as hard as he could on the steps for them to collapse. It was so stupid. Then Jarrett hit Benoit with a guitar. It was so un-Benoit like, and I guess he proved he was in fact human and not machine, as he braced way too early and right in front of the camera to take the shot. Jarrett then grabbed a second ladder they he had put under the ring and climbed up to win the match. Jarrett was then told by Russo that finish was nothing and wait until you see the main event finish.”

This is WCW in a nutshell isn’t it? Gimmick the ladder but it doesn’t work. After you get the win and it’s a big moment, Vince Russo tells you that it’s nothing and wait until you see the main event finish…I mean what are we doing here Jeff?

Now for the main event…from the Observer, “Finally, after all the hype, Hart wrestled Goldberg and the match had no heat, especially as compared with the night before when the match was pretty intense before the finish. Ref bump. Hart used the figure four but Goldberg reversed. Hall & Nash came out with a bat, teased hitting Hart but of course hit Goldberg. They gave the bat to Hart and he hit Goldberg. Piper then did his run-in way before he was supposed to. The idea is that Hart was supposed to pin Goldberg and then Piper would jump on Goldberg to protect him. The problem was, Piper jumped on Goldberg before Hart could pin him. Hart tried to pull him off, but in the angle, Piper wasn't supposed to budge so he didn't. So in this great heat spot you had Hart and Nash laughing because of how silly it was. Ref Billy Silverman didn't know what to do either so he counted the pin with Piper on top. Piper I guess should have been world champion considering of late guys just run from the back and cover guys and are awarded wins. But not this time, as they simply announced it was a figment of all of our imaginations and it was Hart, not Piper, who had covered Goldberg and won the title. Jarrett came out and hit Piper with a guitar and the spray painted NWO on Goldberg and Piper. And you thought there was no originality in that finish? They spray painted it with silver paint”

So Jeff - you’re the catalyst for this when it all comes together but what a mess for the finish. This can’t be how you imagined it right?

What did you think of using silver & black instead of white & black?

Is this doomed from the start with Scott’s injury and now Bret’s injury?

Speaking of things doomed from the start…the next night is another infamous night in not just WCW history but wrestling history. Thunder opens in Salisbury, Maryland with the nWo shitting on the fans and the new nWo phrase is introduced, “Once you’ve had the black, you’ll never go back.” Come on Jeff…

Is the story that the nWo is with Vince Russo? Or is that just completely muddled in the creative?

I ask this because later on on Thunder Russo tells Curt Hennig that Hennig isn’t with the nWo but he’s going to team with you to take on Creative Control later on. You no-show and Creative Control destroy Hennig and then you guys come out and give them the spray paint. Jeff does any of this make sense?

Let’s take a time out right here. What I don’t understand is you have Bret, Scott & Kevin - guys who have been top guys - in the WWF and WCW - how are they not raising their hands going - Vince none of this makes sense?

The main event is Benoit and Bret - while Bret is concussed - and mind you we’re in late December. You hit Benoit with a guitar to cause the DQ and Goldberg lays you out and then chases Bret. Bret would write this in his book: “The next day in Salisbury, Maryland, for Thunder, I told Russo that I was badly hurt from Goldberg’s kick and that I thought I might have a concussion. He still wanted me to work a match with Benoit, with Jeff Jarrett coming out to double-team him. Goldberg would charge out and spear Jarrett while I fled the scene with cameras following and Goldberg coming after me in hot pursuit. I’d race to my rented Cadillac, which would be parked on the back ramp with the keys in the ignition, and just as Goldberg reached my car I’d zoom out of the building. We’d go off the air with a seething Goldberg punching out the windows of a limo, a sharp steel gimmick hidden in his fist. That night I had a good solid match with Benoit, who did his best to take it easy. Jarrett came out and then the one-man tank, Goldberg. When Goldberg speared Jeff, I ran down the aisle, jumped in my car and floored it out the back ramp just as Goldberg caught up and pounded furiously on my car windows. What nobody noticed was that as I pulled out, my car hit the icy pavement and I skidded out of control, having had no time to put on a seatbelt, so there I was with a concussion, barreling head-on towards a huge TV production truck! I thought of Owen in that instant. What would the world think if I got killed plowing my car into a TV truck for some stupid stunt? People would say, “You’d think Owen’s stupid brother would know better than that!” Luckily the tires hit a patch of dry pavement and I burned rubber past the truck to safety. Even with my head full of fuzz I was plenty pissed off and came steaming back to blast Russo, but I completely forgot about it when I saw a worried Goldberg holding his arm in the air with blood pouring everywhere. The gimmick he was using had failed to break the window, so Gold-berg decided that he’d simply break it himself. He did, but he sliced a twelve-inch gash the length of his forearm all the way to the bone. Paramedics tried to staunch the flow of blood and raced him to a hospital. I felt terrible for him; for the first time this big brute of a man looked very afraid as he was loaded into the ambulance.”

Jeff - wow. What is there to even say? What do you remember of all this?

Just the connection between god forbid something happening to Bret, the brother of your friend Owen, and all this happening…it’s scary to think about isn’t it?

Terry Funk comes back as WCW commissioner and obviously he’s going to be pitted against the nWo and the rumor and innuendo is that it was supposed to be Ric Flair in that spot. Were you disappointed it was Terry and not Ric?

Was Terry the guy the nWo needed to be fueding with?

You work Sid the next Nitro in a winner must hit a power bomb match. The nWo attacks so you lose by DQ. Your main storyline on this show is kidnapping people though. It starts with Daffney and ends with Arn Anderson. How out of control is Vince Russo and the creative at this point?

That Nitro also has Scott Steiner back with the nWo in a tag team title tournament match. They go to the finals where they lose to David Flair & Crowbar. I bring that up because the Observer had this to say:

“Vince Russo called a meeting of everyone to try and air out any problems on 1/3 and tell people that if they had a problem doing anything asked of them to come to them about it, probably stemming from Hart's reaction after being asked to run Sid's car over with the monster truck. The meeting seemed to go along fine for a while although when Russo told the group he was giving the tag titles to David Flair & Crowbar because they had been working so hard and he wanted to reward good work, it didn't go over with anyone because of the feeling that having them as champs destroys whatever value the belts have. At one point in the meeting Nash started complaining about the food and the fact they have to be in the building at 1 p.m. and can't tan and be in the gym and the catering was so bad. He yelled at David Crockett, who was in charge of that. It wound up with Gary Juster arguing with Nash. It was brought up about bringing weights to the building so guys could work out but Saturn complained they couldn't get the kind of workout they need because it wouldn't be well equipped enough. Because so many wrestlers have injuries to body parts, there are many movements they can't do so. Well equipped gyms have machines that are easier on the joints where they can get at least some workout of the body part in that they couldn't using free weights alone. For whatever reason, the meeting started falling apart at that point. Juster talked to both wrestlers individually about it. Later they went to Russo and complained they shouldn't have been yelled at for the suggestion because it was supposed to be an open forum and Russo pretty well agreed”

Was this what you left the WWF for?

You’ve often talked about how Scott was one of your best friends. This made sense didn’t it to put Big Poppa Pump back in the nWo?

At Thunder…and this is where it gets really goofy…the story is that you’ve been holding Arn Anderson hostage for 72 hours and you’re going to negotiate with Terry Funk on his release. This leads to…you wrestling Norman Smiley in a bunkhouse match which you win but Ric Flair now comes out with a crowbar and holds YOU hostage. This leads to…Kevin Nash vs. Terry Funk at Souled Out in a hardcore match and a hardcore match between Funk and Bret Hart later that night and then there’s a hostage exchange. Is this professional wrestling?

Funk and Hart go to a no-contest in the hardcore match because…bro…

We’ve joked and talked about how you’re a model employee but you can’t be watching the shows and seeing the creative and think that WCW is on the right path at this point right?

What is the mood backstage at this point?

Well we know Bret Hart’s mood because he would write about it in his weekly column in the Calgary Sun.

I've been doing everything I can to help WCW compete in the ratings war with the WWF and lately sometimes I find myself going against my own personal beliefs in order to be a team player. I ask myself, how far do I compromise in order to help WCW beat Vince McMahon or do I find a personal victory in not bending at all. I'm having a harder time than people think finding that answer.

What I do know is that in an effort to come up with their own version of the WWF's winning formula, WCW hired the WWF's script writers right out from under them. The phrase "script writer" had no meaning in wrestling until very recently. People have always asked if wrestling is scripted and the honest answer to that was no. I never saw or even heard of a script for a wrestling match. But now the first thing they do when you arrive at an arena is put a script in your hand. It's not a script that tells you how to wrestle--although I fear that's not far off. It's a script for all the soap opera stuff, which has taken precedence over the wrestling matches. I find myself memorizing lines and rehearsing scenes. I want to make it very clear to anyone who might still be wondering--and I know there are a few of you--that I never really tried to kill Sid Vicious by running him over with a monster truck (that's fake).

But I could have killed myself screeching out of an arena in a speeding car in another scripted scene (That's real). I'm flooring it, tearing out of backstage, with no time in the scene to even put on a seat belt, and it turns out an icy rain had coated the ramp. There I am, careening out of control, toward a huge trailer truck filled with television equipment. In the last moment, I was somehow able to swerve to safety.

About a week later I was awakened in the middle of the night by the dawning realization that I had a concussion from when Goldberg kicked me in the head (for real) and I'd been walking around in a haze ever since--otherwise there is no way I would have agreed to race a car up a narrow ramp flanked not only by expensive equipment but--by the way--what about whatever people happened to be around?

Then look at Goldberg, who was scripted to punch through a glass car window, ending up nearly cutting his forearm off and now he'll be out of action for quite a while. It's actually sickening to me because in wrestling's proper context, it would never have happened.

I'm a wrestler, not a stunt man. And even a stunt man has time to strap himself in. I'm a professional wrestler and I get paid to wrestle in a ring. What am I doing fighting in the back taking falls on concrete and doing stunts in speeding cars?

And the really scary part was when I realized that I'd done exactly what Owen had done. I made a mistake and before I knew it had done something really stupid--and for what? I was hurt, weary and all I wanted to do was go home for the holidays so I didn't even see it coming. I made it clear to WCW I will never make that mistake again.

Since pro wrestling has turned into soap opera there are very few skilled wrestlers anymore--like Chris Benoit. He showed up barely in time to make it as part of a lost era. Like the ghost of what wrestling used to be and was meant to be. Benoit made an indelible statement with me in Kansas City, one that is best defined not with words but by watching. It is asking an awful lot of Chris Benoit to carry that legacy into the future when wrestling shows today don't pay homage to the past. I tried to do what I could to clean up wrestling and bring it back to what it's supposed to be and things are so far gone now that maybe Chris shouldn't try to be the morality police of wrestling any more than I could.

Since wrestling is scripted now I don't take it as seriously as I used to. I take my matches seriously and I take wrestling seriously but all this soap opera stuff is just--a job. I hope no one actually believes for one second that I'd really beat up Arn Anderson with a baseball bat--or some poor EMT for that matter!

I finished Mick Foley's book. I was looking forward to reading about the good old days. As much as I loved the book, and Mick is a great guy and he's a great storyteller, some of the stories in his book are absolutely hilarious. But in my opinion, even Mick missed the point. Great wrestling is not about how many bones you break or how many teeth you lose or being set on fire or walking back to the dressing room with tacks in your back. That's what he did and he's proud of it and he's happy with it and I'm happy for him. But that's not what most wrestlers do. That's not what I do. Mick Foley knows as well as I do that the artistry of wrestling is supposed to be scripted realism. In his book, the point was lost.”

When you see this and come across this and here’s a guy who’s the World Champion of the promotion writing about this is in a national publication for Canada and you know will be transposed in the United States…you have to take a step back and think about the profession do you not?

It’s also reported in the Observer at the time that Nash & Hall were attempting to get out of their deals. Do you remember hearing them being unhappy?

There are negotiations for your next Nitro appearance where legends will be appearing to take you on. From the Observer: “Several former WWF wrestlers were approached about being brought for the angle with Jarrett. Snuka and Steele agreed reportedly for $2,000 to $3,000 while Tito Santana, King Kong Bundy, Honky Tonk Man and Bob Backlund turned it down. Nick Bockwinkel was also approached. At this point nobody from the company has talked with Bruno Sammartino but there are still intermediaries talking with him including about this angle to put Jarrett over but Sammartino also wants to hear from Russo personally”

Is Russo keeping you in the loop on this? What did you think of this idea? Is this Russo just trying to get you that Moolah heat from the WWF?

It’s also reported in the Observer that the conversation with Bruno got so far that the NY State Athletic Commission was contacted. How amazing would this had been Jeff?

So here we are at one of the biggest life changing moments in my opinion for you. It’s Nitro in Buffalo, NY on January 10th. You’re scheduled for 3 matches against 3 legends. George Steele, Tito Santana and Jimmy Snuka. First things first…it had to excite you considering your family and legacy in this business to be wrestling on national TV against these 3 right?

The reason this is so life changing is because of the domino effect that occurs in WCW.

This is the Nitro that is the go-home show for Souled Out. You come out in a Tennessee Titans jersey because this show in Buffalo is taking place just two days after the “Music City Miracle.” For those that don’t know, can you explain what that is?

You take on George Steele first in a Bunkhouse match. Chris Benoit is the referee for all 3 of your matches by the way. Steele, 63, eats the turnbuckle and then Arn Anderson hits a spinebuster on you and put Steele on top for the win in under 2 minutes…

Jeff.

JEFF.

Moving on…Terry Funk schedules Bret Hart and Kevin Nash to take on each other in the main event and you’re shown playing both sides of the fence for their match.

Next up is Tito Santana for you in a regular wrestling match. It was announced earlier in the show that your first match would be a regular wrestling match, then the second was going to be a bunkhouse and third was going to be a cage. Any idea if this is a miscommunication or something that had to change?

You lose to Santana when Paul Orndorff comes out and gives you a piledriver in 2:25.

Jeff.

Finally - 56 year old Jimmy Snuka takes you on in a cage match. His 56 is a whole lot different Goldberg’s current 55 year old body is it not?

Snuka ends up doing his splash OFF THE TOP OF THE CAGE onto you and knocks you out. Jeff - how the hell did this get cleared? What do you remember of all this?

The show continues as Benoit goes up to the top of the cage himself and hits the headbutt on you as well.

How quickly do you think you’re hurt or did it take some time?

Later that night Kevin Nash and Bret Hart face off in Bret’s last ever match for WCW. They go over 10 minutes and it turns into a schmozz and that’ll be it for Bret as a wrestler as he just cannot continue due to his concussion.
