Welcome to a Bonus Edition of The Kurt Angle Show, where Kurt takes on Sabu in hislast WWE match. This took place on the August 8th edition of ECW on Sci-Fi in 2006.

Before we get to the match itself Kurt it’s crazy to think it’s been 15 years since this isn’t it?

You return to the ECW brand in August at the Hammerstein Ballroom for ECW TV where you defeat the Brooklyn Brawler in 1:11 and you get a big welcome back chant from the crowd. How excited were you to be back wrestling?

You’re working RVD on two house shows before this. Tell me about your physical well being at this point?

So to set the stage of what we’re about to watch…it’s you vs. Sabu in a #1 Contender’s match for Big Show’s ECW Title. This takes place at the Gaylord Entertainment Center in Nashville, TN. It’s the TV main event and let’s press play.

What you’re looking for on your Peacock machines everyone is ECW - Season 1 and episode 9 and we are going to start right at 29 minutes.

Now the reaction you get when you come out is a big one. With RVD’s suspension and Big Show’s push you were probably the most over baby face on the brand at this point right?

You’ve said in interviews before you had already requested your release from the company and were refused. What is your relationship like with management?

Sabu has always gotten a reputation as hard to deal with but how was it putting this match together?

Did Sabu tell you he wasn’t up for certain things or did you shoot down any ideas in putting it together?

RVD interferes to make this match a no-contest as you had Sabu in the ankle lock and it’s to setup a ladder match the next week but it never happens.

Now you and Conrad are going to cover your eventual departure from the company in an upcoming episode but when this match ends…did you have any idea it would be the last time you were wrestling on WWE TV until you tagged with Dean Ambrose … now Jon Moxley … & Seth Rollins to face the Miz, Braun Strowman, Kane, Cesaro & Sheamus at TLC in 2017?
