Even if there was no obvious network home for WCW in 2001, Eric’s plan to scale back production costs at a fixed site in Vegas seems spot on. Raw in 2002 was still pulling in over a 4 rating. I have to believe some network would have been interested. A base 2 rating for a re-launch seems pretty reasonable. There is a built in loyal WCW fan base, even today, that will not watch WWE. Where any meetings ever held with other networks? I don’t see a downside for a network taking this chance.
