Fatal Four Way 2010

Fatal Four Way 2010 took place on June 20th, 2010 at the Nassau Coliseum, in Uniondale, New York. It drew 10,000 fans.

This was the first and only Fatal Four Way pay per view. 3 of the 8 matches on the show were fatal 4 way matches.

What's your thoughts on fatal four way matches and were you ever in one?

We're coming off of the Over the Limit pay per view, where John Cena retained the WWE Title in an I Quit Match over Batista.

Let's get to some company news heading into Fatal Four Way.

On the June 7th Raw, we saw the invasion of NXT rookies on Raw. It started off with John Cena vs CM Punk. It went about 10 minutes when the NXT guys hit the ring; consisting of Wade Barrett, Darren Young, Health Slater, Justin Gabriel, Michael Tarver, Skip Sheffield, David Otunga, and Daniel Bryan.

They attacked Cena, Punk, Luke Gallows, Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler, Matt Striker (who joined Lawler and Michael Cole at commentary), ring announcer Justin Roberts, and other WWE personnel around the ring and destroyed everything at ringside, including the ring itself, which forced the match to end in a no contest. During the attack, Daniel Bryan strangled Roberts with his necktie and, in a sign of disrespect, spit in Cena's face, the latter of which led him to be released from his contract on June 11, 2010, which we'll talk about.

After this, they became known as Nexxus.

Talk about the idea for this?

Over the next few weeks, this would be heavily compared online to the nWo invasion of WCW in 1996, which you were there for. Would you say this was similar at all? Was it WWE's intention for it to be similar and draw those comparisons to the nWo? One of the main differences was that nWo had big time, established top guys in it and the Nexxus had mostly unknown guys to the audience.

Meltzer reported - Undertaker underwent surgery this past week on his damaged orbital bone. Before the surgery, we had heard he would be able to return in 8 to 12 weeks, but haven’t heard anything since. It would make sense to keep him out of action until SummerSlam. At this point the plan is still Swagger vs. Undertaker for the Smackdown title, but you can’t expect those kind of plans not to change ten times before then.

Have you seen or heard about the Undertaker documentary they're showing?

What's your memories of spinebustering him at WrestleMania 18 during his match with Ric Flair?

Meltzer reported - Ted DiBiase Sr. underwent emergency neck surgery on 6/7, to free a disc pressing against a nerve that was causing him severe pain in his right shoulder and down the arm. He had a neck operation in the 90s which led to his retirement as an active wrestler, where two discs were removed. He still hopes to make a personal appearance scheduled this coming weekend in France.

Did you ever talk to Ted about this, since you had experience with that?

Meltzer reported - At television this week, Vince showed up and he had two black eyes, and a cut over one eye that went to his forehead. Nobody seemed to know what happened. It was described to me as something everybody was whispering about very privately, but nobody wanted to say something aloud about for fear they might be heard. Vince never addressed it and if anyone asked Vince, they weren’t telling anyone what he said. It looked like he was either in a fight or some kind of an accident. Most figured the latter if only because it if was a fight, it would be hard to be kept quiet.

What's your memories of that? Did word ever get out about what happened?

Meltzer reported - Ricky Steamboat was taken off the road temporarily to work in Tampa as a trainer in FCW. It’s a temporary position. The company had hired Dennis Condrey as a full-time trainer, but for whatever reason, that didn’t work out.

Do you recall this happening? Dennis Condrey was one of half of the legendary Midnight Express with Bobby Eaton in the NWA, before he left and was replaced by Stan Lane

Which version of the Midnight Express did you think was better?

Speaking of Ricky, Meltzer wrote - Ricky Steamboat, 57, wrestled his first match since August (at a WWC show in Puerto Rico teaming with his son), teamed with his son on 6/18 in Fort Myers, FL, on an FCW show, to beat The Dudebusters in the main event. Ricky carried the match since his son is not yet 100% after reconstructive knee surgery.

Keller reported - ABC issued a press release today announcing full details on Chris Jericho hosting their new “Downfall” game show. The show premieres on Tuesday, June 22 and will air in the 9:00 p.m. EST timeslot. WWE NXT airs at 10:00 p.m. EST Tuesday nights on Syfy. The press release noted Jericho is a “talented actor, television personality, radio host, rock star, and WWE superstar wrestler.” CNN also covered the story following The Hollywood Reporter breaking the news last night. CNN’s angle: “Jericho may sound like an unusual choice to host such a program, but ’Downfall’ doesn’t appear to be your typical game show.” ABC’s press release listed virtually every media appearance Jericho has made during his career to substantiate picking Jericho to host. The release also provided more details on the new game show taking place in Los Angeles: For “Downfall,” the six–episode series will be played atop the roof of a downtown Los Angeles high–rise, where contestants will try to answer a series of trivia questions against the clock.

Fabricated facsimiles of prizes will be placed on the largest conveyor belt ever seen on TV, with a pile of cash at the end ranging from $5,000 to $1 million. In each round, players will try to answer all the questions before their prizes and cash go over the edge, off the roof and crashing 100 feet to the street below. If the cash goes off the roof, the game is over and that player is eliminated. Each player also risks going over the side of the building –– but in this case wearing a decelerator harness to soften the fall

We talked earlier about Daniel Bryan being fired as a result of his actions during the NXT invasion. Meltzer reported -

Bryan Danielson became the most talked about wrestler in the industry this past weekend after being fired by Vince McMahon, personally, on 6/11.

Over the past week the situation has been hugely discussed, because of aspects where it seemed like a worked storyline. In the end, the story seems to make no logical sense either as storyline or as reality.

Danielson was fired late Friday night Eastern time by McMahon, and creative and all the major company executives were said to have no idea anything was even brewing. There were those who knew that there was some heat on the angle itself because of the feeling they had promised sponsors a PG show and aspects of the angle violated that promise. But nobody expected a scapegoat or a firing out of it, just that they would be more careful. Most, however, thought it was a great angle. As the week went on, ratings for NXT the next day were up, as were ratings for Raw the next week. There was no appreciable difference in house show attendance.

All the major company executives were informed immediately, and moments later, the WWE web site released the news. The point being, if this is a work, Vince McMahon is keeping it a secret from virtually everyone, and lying to the COO, Vice Presidents, people doing payroll, marketing, creative, the people in control of the drug testing, etc. In addition, Danielson would be lying to his best friends, both in and out of the company.

Danielson has been vague in his writing about the subject, but he may not have known what he could and couldn’t say without getting unnecessary heat that would hurt a possible return. While he had people in the company who were legitimately not his supporters, the general reaction is the wrestlers greatly respected his ability and he was a model employee. He got high marks for his interviews and his physical angles with Michael Cole and The Miz, which were far more believable than 98% of WWE angles.

Danielson is already taking independent bookings all over the world, with the caveat that during his 90 day non-compete, through 9/11, that he can’t work on television or PPV. The belief is that he can be taped on the 7/24 Dragon Gate USA show in Philadelphia, which is a PPV, because the show won’t air until after 9/11. The only company he’s outright banned from appearing for is TNA. He will remain on payroll until 9/11, and after that point, he is free to go to TNA.

What's your memories of this and how did you feel about it?

Did you get to talk to Daniel at this time about it?

Bryan got a lot of support after he was fired. Cena spoke up about on Twitter, saying he'd like to see him back, and

PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) sent a letter to WWE CEO Vince McMahon encouraging WWE to re–hire Bryan Danielson after his release last Friday. In the letter to McMahon, PETA said Danielson “represents the quintessential vegan badass.” WWE often drew attention to Danielson being a vegan during the first season of WWE’s NXT show.

Dan Shannon, a spokesman for PETA, wrote: “On behalf of (PETA) and the WWE fans among our more than 2 million members and supporters, I’m writing to toss our name into the ring as yet another proponent of the push to bring back Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson). “I might not personally carry the same clout as other Bryan supporters like John Cena or Shawn Michaels…but I am, along with many of my colleagues, a huge Daniel Bryan fan, not only because he humiliated the Miz and Michael Cole a few weeks back on Raw but also because he’s vegan”

Did you know he'd be brought back rather quickly?

During this time, we started seeing celebrity guest hosts on Raw every week. What was your thoughts on that concept?

Who was your favorite and least favorite of the hosts?

Speaking of Raw, the ratings for a few weeks heading into the ppv were -

May 17: 3.44 rating –– May 24: 3.11 rating –– May 31: 3.22 rating –– June 7: 3.09 rating (3.34 regular two hours) –– June 14: 3.43 rating

2 days before the pay per view, WWE ran a show in MSG which Meltzer said is believed to be the non ppv record for MSG. It drew 19,000 fans for $180,000. Here's a quick run down of the show -

The biggest news at the show was after the main event, John Cena did a promo and talked about seeing everyone in the arena at WrestleMania XXX. While it has not been officially announced, those in the company had widely assumed the 2014 show would be at Madison Square Garden, since it’s the tradition of every ten years the Garden, the site of the initial Mania in 1985, getting the anniversary show.

Kofi Kingston pinned Drew McIntyre to keep the IC title. Like at the PPV, this match was long and better than expected. Kingston won, and then after the match, Matt Hardy came through the crowd and attacked him. Match had a lot of heat.

Christian & MVP beat Luke Gallows & The Masked SES mystery man. Crowd not much into this although work was solid. Joey Mercury wrestled with regular wrestling gear and his mask. A lot of fans thought it was Punk.

Kane pinned C.M. Punk clean with a choke slam. Tony Chimel once again announced Punk as from the home of the Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks.

The Miz won a four-way to keep the U.S. title over R-Truth, Evan Bourne and Mark Henry. It was mostly a collection of one-on-one spots as opposed to four-way stuff. At the end they started trading finishes. Bourne used the shooting star press on Truth, but Miz jumped in, threw Bourne out of the ring and stole the pin. Kind of weird to do the exact same finish as television on Monday and on the PPV the next day.

Jack Swagger pinned Big Show to retain the World title in a no DQ match. The first 5:00 were all comedy, and it was a slow match once it got started. Show kicked out of pins after a chair shot and a belt shot. The finish saw Kane interfere with a choke slam on Show, although Show didn’t get off the mat much. Swagger got the pin. Post-match saw Kane then choke slam Swagger and leave. As he recovered, Show then nailed Swagger with the knock out punch.

Eve Torres & Bella Twins beat Maryse & Michelle McCool & Layla with Santino Marella as referee. Crowd turned on this match, with “This is boring” and “This is stupid” chants. Match said to be terrible, ending when Torres pinned Maryse with a neckbreaker.

Randy Orton pinned Edge clean with the RKO. Short match and Orton didn’t take many bumps.

John Cena beat Sheamus to retain the WWE title. Cena got a mixed reaction with the dueling chants. Good main event ending with Cena getting the pin after the Attitude Adjustment. Wade Barrett did a run-in after the match attacking Cena. The rest of the NXT crew came out as well. It ended with Orton, Bourne, Henry, Kingston, R-Truth and finally Edge making the save and running off the NXT crew. Edge left, and the show ended with the rest of the faces in the ring celebrating while Cena cut a thank you promo.

That takes us to the Fatal 4 Way pay per view

A. Zack Ryder pinned MVP by snapping MVP’s neck on the top rope and doing the Rough Ryder.  Dark match

Vince comes out to announce that Bret Hart will not be joining us thanks to the Nexus. When they ran a car into his limo

Kofi Kingston retained the IC title pinning Drew McIntyre in 16:28. Much more heated than you’d think and better as well. McIntyre told Teddy Long to come out right now. Long came out with no music and looked all depressed about what happened on TV. McIntyre called him a pathetic shell of a man, with no pride. Cue a Sakuraba run-in. No, the best we’re getting is a Matt Hardy run-in, or maybe a walk-fast in, at the end here. He made fun of how Long has to demean himself for a paycheck and told him to sit in a chair at ringside and give him the belt when he wins. Kingston hit a tope early.

McIntyre used a chop block and threw Kingston’s left shoulder into the post. He worked on the shoulder. Cool spot where Kingston rolled with a clothesline and turned it into a float over DDT. Kingston made a comeback but some of his moves were off. They traded near falls including McIntyre kicking out of the SOS. Ref Charles Robinson was knocked down. McIntyre then threw Kingston’s shoulder into the post and used a double arm DDT, but no ref. McIntyre threw Long into the ring, pulled off Robinson’s shirt and threw it at Long. Long put on the shirt, went to count, and suddenly held up at two and refused to count to three.

McIntyre stared yelling at Long who was begging off. Hardy did his run-in, hitting the twist of fate on McIntyre. Kingston then used the Trouble in Paradise for the pin. ***

The Hart Dynasty tells Savannah they’re not going to be distracted by Bret Hart’s health woes because they have the Usos.

Alicia Fox won the women’s title in a four-way over champion Eve Torres, Maryse and Gail Kim in 5:47. Kim and Fox both got no reaction coming out. Funny stuff. First, Kim used an armbar and Striker called it a Fujiwara armbar. Almost immediately, Fox did use a Fujiwara armbar, but since it was different then the prior move, nobody could call it. Cool spot where Torres put Fox in a camel clutch, and then Kim put the trapped Fox in the Boston crab. Maryse broke up the pin and threw Kim and Torres out. Kim came in with a missile dropkick which Striker called the Jumping Bomb Angels (an 80s Japanese tag team) double stomp. Torres used a neckbreaker on Maryse, and then went to the top and hit a moonsault on at Maryse, but Fox made the save. She then threw Torres out of the ring and stole the pin. Bad match. ½*

Chris Jericho, who wasn’t advertised on the show, came out and said that he’s the reason everyone over 25 is still watching wrestling. He said that even Wade Barrett of late is getting more attention than others. He said he was the most important wrestler on the roster and greatest wrestler of the generation. He said on Raw that Evan Bourne used the shooting star press afer the match and it was unfair.

Evan Bourne pinned Chris Jericho in 12:02 in a match that was a late add. Fans started cheering for Jericho. Bourne used a plancha to the floor. Then Jericho kicked Bourne as he came through the ropes. Jericho used a springboard dropkick. Dueling chants but louder chants for Jericho. Bourne used a flying pin kick and low kicks. Jericho used a German suplex. They did a cool spot where Jericho was on the middle rope, and Bourne, flat footed jumped off the mat with a Frankensteiner. Jericho came back for the Walls of Jericho. Bourne made the ropes. Fans booed heavily Bourne making the ropes as they clearly wanted to see Jericho win. Jericho knocked Bourne off the apron into the announcers table. Jericho missed a tackle and went into the ring steps. Bourne came back with double knees off the top for a near fall.

Jericho missed a lionsault and Bourne used a flying kick. Bourne went up for the shooting star press, but Jericho move and Bourne landed on his feet. Jericho hit the codebreaker but Bourne got his foot on the ropes. After more back-and-forth, Bourne got the win with a shooting star press. ****

Recap of Kane explaining that the Undertaker was found in a vegetative state. Kane vows to prosecute anyone who had anything to do with the Undertaker’s disappearance.

The next match was a fatal 4 way for the World Title. Jack Swagger defending against Big Show, Rey Mysterio and CM Punk

At Over the Limit, Big Show defeated Swagger by DQ, and as a result qualified for the fatal four-way match. The Undertaker beat Mysterio CM Punk beat Kane in  their qualifying matches. Later Kane found his half-brother Undertaker in a vegetative state, unable to compete and The Undertaker was removed from the match. A battle royal was done determine The Undertaker's replacement in the match, which was won by Rey Mysterio who last eliminated Kane.

Rey Mysterio regained the World title over CM Punk, Swagger and Big Show in 10:27. The announcers noted that the Celtics wished they had Big Show on the roster. A slow guy who can’t jump? Show was playing monster for several minutes. Swagger did a double German suplex on Mysterio and Punk. He went to pin Mysterio, who kicked out at two. Mysterio tried a 619 on Punk but Show blocked it and slammed Mysterio on the announcers table. Mysterio went after Show and kicked the ring steps into his knee. He used a 619 around the post and then Punk gave Show a plancha.

Mysterio springboarded into the ring, right into a kick by Swagger. Punk then gave Swagger the GTS. With everyone but Punk down, Kane came out with a casket on wheels. Kane went after Punk and choke slammed him into the casket. Luke Gallows and out and attacked Kane. Punk and Gallows then ran off. Kane was supposed to run after them, but he’s hurting. Finish was Mysterio using a 619 and a springboard splash onto Swagger. **½

This was Rey's 2nd time as World Champion. What did you think of him as the World Champion?

Cena did a promo, pretty much saying the NXT guys were doing a run-
in in the main event. He said al the guys had an unspoken agreement to work together if the NXT guys interfere in this match.

The Miz retained the U.S. title beating R-Truth in 13:19. Miz did a rap trying to imitate Truth’s voice, and using Truth’s ring entrance music. Then Truth came out and got little reaction. “Miz is awful” chants were pretty loud at one point. Miz threw Truth into the post, teasing a rib injury. They teased the referee was looking at stopping the match due to injury, but of course, it didn’t happen. Miz made a comeback. Miz used a bow and arrow and a suplex. R-Truth was given a backbreaker and neckbreaker on Miz to try and win the fall.

When Truth did a missile dropkick, Lawler asked Striker if it was one of those flying angel moves. Truth used a suplex into a stunner that nobody popped for except the announcers. Miz used a backbreaker and neckbreaker for a near fall. Match started dragging late and people lost interest. The finish saw Miz block a front cradle sat back on it for the pin. **1/4

Edge explains why he is the favorite to win the title tonight.

David Hart Smith & Tyson Kidd & Natalya beat Jimmy & Jey Uso & Tamina in 9:28. They were put in a death spot on the show. To Striker’s credit, he was the first pro wrestling announcer in history to use the correct pronunciation for the word “Samoan.” Then he started listing famous Samoan wrestlers. He didn’t mention Rock, or even Peter Maivia, but did mention Jimmy Snuka, who isn’t Samoan. Jimmy used a Samoan drop on the floor sending Kidd into the barricades. They worked on Kid for a long time. Kid used a springboard flip dive on both Usos. Tamina then hit a Samoan drop on Natalya. But Tamina missed the superfly splash. Natalya got up and used a discus clothesline for the pin. **½

The next match is a 4 way for the WWE Title. John Cena defending against Randy Orton, Sheamus and Edge

On the May 24th Raw, Bret Hart was announced as the new Raw GM. Before Batista could cut a promo, Hart interrupted and said that if Batista wanted his rematch, then he would have to qualify. Batista refused to wrestle, citing an injury and Hart then let Orton qualify by forfeit, before quitting the WWE. Edge and Sheamus won their qualifying matches to gain entry into the match with Orton

Sheamus won a four-way for the WWE title over champion John Cena, Randy Orton and Edge to win the title in 17:25. Orton got a big pop first. Edge got some boos but not as many as you’d think Sheamus was booed more heavily. Cena came out and got a mixed reaction, more boos than anyone, but not more cheers tan Orton.

The key talking point was that Cena, Orton and Edge have combined to be in the main event at 12 WrestleManias. That sounded ridiculous. Okay, even though it wasn’t the real main event, I’ll give Orton 2009 (vs. HHH), Edge 2008 (vs. Undertaker even though it was at best No. 3 on that show), Cena 2007 (although it was No. 2 on that show), Cena 2006 legit.

So really between them there’s one legit Mania main, and four show closers where you can at least stretch it and say they were the main event. Sheamus went to work on Cena. Loud Cena sux chants. Then the dueling chants and the guys chanting Cena sux were much louder. They showed Evan Bourne and the Hart Dynasty in a room watching a monitor, which made sense for later. The usual WWE four-way where guys take turns laying outside the ring and being injured. Edge was injured, came back and missed a spear and went to the floor, so he could be injured again. Orton used a double draping DDT on Sheamus and Cena.

Edge returned with a high kick on Orton. Edge then missed the spear again. Cena was using shoulder blocks on Edge and being booed heavily. Edge then speared Orton off the apron, but Cena put Edge in the STF. Crowd was screaming here. Edge was about to get to the ropes but Cena pulled him to the center. Sheamus returned and made the save. Sheamus went for the pin but Edge kicked out. Cena tried the Attitude Adjustment on Edge, but Edge shoved him off into Orton RKOing Cena. Sheamus kicked ref Jack Doan to break up the pin.

Edge speared Orton. Sheamus was to deliver the bicycle kick on Edge, which he did but it was mistimed. Sheamus went to pin Orton, who kicked out. Orton then threw Sheamus over the announcers table. Edge speared Orton outside the ring into the barricades. In the room, the NXT guys attacked and laid out the Hart Dynasty and Bourne. Whey they’d put Bourne in the job guy category is beyond me. Then they came to the ring and decked a guy in a headset and everyone attacked Cena. Edge tried to save Cena but they beat him down.

While this was going on, Sheamus pinned Cena to win the title. Sheamus then ran off. Michael Tarver was supposed to deliver a superman punch or just a punch. Whatever it was, this wasn’t good. How can you set up a punch on a guy behind held and be out of position to deliver it? Skip Sheffield laid out Cena with a clothesline, and then Wade Barrett used the forward fireman’s carry and Justin Gabriel hit the 450 on Cena. The NXT guys chased Sheamus to the back. Luckily none of them ran right past him on camera.

After this was over, Cena did an interview (yes, he got up and did an interview) saying he wasn’t mad about losing the title because that comes and goes, but he was mad about these guys who haven’t earned their way into WWE doing what they’re doing. Match and post-match pretty much as expected. ***

The next night on Raw from Bridgeport, CT

Vince McMahon’s music played. He walked out to a mixed reaction. He said last night there was “ultimate sheer chaos” in one of their main events, and as a result they have a new WWE Champion— Sheamus. He said there is only one person to blame for that chaos—Bret Hart. He said he told Bret he was going to have to make tough decisions as general manager, but not bad decisions. He said he made a bad decision, “hindsight being 20/20,” when he fired Wade Barrett and dismissed the entire former NXT group. He said that set off a whole chain of reactions.

He said Bret was taken on a joy ride and shaken up a little. He said that’s no reason not to show up last night at the Fatal 4–Way event. He said as a result of Bret not showing up, there was chaos. He said Bret didn’t bother to hire extra security or “tip off other WWE Superstars that something might be happening.” He said it’s all on Bret. The crowd chanted, “We Want Bret!” Vince paused to let the chant get stronger. It didn’t. He said as a result of the chaos, as the Chairman of the Board of WWE he has no choice but to relieve Bret of his duties as G.M. of Raw. “In other words, Bret, you’re fired,” he said. He said it give him a certain feeling of closure, a term Bret once used. He said now he has a bigger announcement to make. He said a new G.M. is running things. He said that new G.M. prefers to remain anonymous. He said that new G.M. will be issuing his instructions through a computer on the announce desk in front of Lawler and Cole

A ping noise came through and Cole noticed that an email came in from the new G.M. He said it said that all seven members of the former NXT group have officially been hired. Cole said the email said they’ll address the WWE Universe tonight. Vince said things are beginning with a bang. He told everyone to enjoy the show. Sheamus’s music played and he walked onto the stage with the WWE Title belt. He headed to the ring and McMahon stood there smiling.

Sheamus absorbed a chant of “You suck! You suck!” He struggled with his words, but he said he didn’t want to win the WWE Championship that way. He scratched his forehead and seemed bothered. He said last night he wanted to prove he belonged in the top echelon by beating three top WWE Superstars in the ring on his own. He said that didn’t happen. He said, “What I am trying to say is I don’t deserve this and I can’t accept this championship under these conditions.”

He handed the belt back to McMahon. McMahon reached toward the belt. Sheamus laughed and then pulled the back to his chest. He smiled and laughed and said he’ll accept it because no matter how it happened, he is the new WWE Champion. Lawler said, “He got me.” Sheamus called it a glorious opportunity and glorious occasion. He wanted to send a special message to the former NXT guys.

“Thank you!” he said. “Thank you for interfering in my match last night. Thank you for taking out Bret Hart last week. Thank you for jumping the WWE Superstars in the back. And thank you for giving me the opportunity that I needed.” He said before the NXT “lads” get carried away, he wanted them to know he didn’t need their help.

He said everybody knows he could have won the Fatal 4–Way match on his own. He said now that he has the title, he’ll never lose it. John Cena’s music interrupted him. Cena marched to the ring. He seemed very happy with the reception he received. He asked to join the party. He said he had people to thank. He said Mr. McMahon has announced a new mysterious G.M. “I’m interested,” he said.

He also told Cole to thank the anonymous NXT “jim–brones” because now he doesn’t have to worry about them showing up, but he knows they will show up. He said it’s only a matter of time before he settles his issues with them. He also thanked Sheamus, “the human jar of mayonnaise,” for winning the Fatal 4–Way. He said since he entered last night’s match as champion, he gets a rematch. He thanked Bridgeport because he can’t think of a better place for a title match between he and Sheamus. Sheamus said there will be no WWE Championship match tonight. He told Mr. McMahon to kindly ask Cena to leave or he’ll do it himself

Another email arrived. Cole read it. It said in the TV main event, Sheamus would defend the WWE Title against Cena

Jericho pinned Bourne, with the codebreaker

Backstage Vince was shown talking on his cell phone. He confirmed he gave the new G.M. “complete, ultimate authority.” He said he likes surprises, but asked the G.M. not to surprise him again. –Backstage Ted DiBiase approached Virgil. He said they’ve known each other a long time and he wanted to apologize for his actions last week.

He said that being said, his services will no longer be needed because he has decided to upgrade. In walked Maryse. He said she appreciates the power of money. Virgil said he’ll need him for protection. DiBiase said he’ll go to the drug store for that. DiBiase leaned in and said, “You’re fired!” Virgil looked down sadly and walked away
