Over the Limit 2010

Over the Limit 2010 took place on May 23rd from the Joe Louis Arena, in Detroit, Michigan. It drew 11,000 for about $675,000 and got 197,000 pay per view buys

This is coming off of the Extreme Rules pay per view where John Cena beat Batista in a Last Man Standing match to retain the title. Also, Edge beat Chris Jericho in a cage, Sheamus beat HHH in a street fight and Jack Swagger retained the World title by beating Randy Orton.

In early May after going head to head with Raw for a few months, TNA decided to put Impact back on Thursdays. What was your memories about that?

When they started going head to head with Raw, did you think Impact had any shot to do what Nitro did when they started going head to head with Raw?

Meltzer reported - Jim Ross’ contract expired and he’s at this point still with the company. He’s going to be used in a number of roles, all off the air at this point, including continuing to do talent payroll, and helping with talent recruiting and development, as well as talent relations. He’s also going to work on outside projects with Barry Bloom, such as writing a book, although as a WWE employee, it will be interesting. By not being under contract as talent, there would be different restrictions, but WWE has a lot of restrictions on what employees can do as well.

Not being under contract would mean that they can get rid of him at any time and he can leave at any time, so the idea of going to TNA or HDNet isn’t dead, although my feeling is TNA probably isn’t happening and HDNet has a lot better chance of happening.

Did JR ever talk to you about any frustrations he may have had with the company during these years?

Do you feel WWE often mistreated him and misused him by taking him off of TV so frequently?

Meltzer reported - As things are scheduled, Bret Hart’s farewell to this WWE tour will be on the 5/17 Raw in Toronto. Hart was on “The Fight Show” and said as far as he knows, that’s his last show, but he’s open to do more if requested. Hart told WWE that he’s going to be based in Calgary for most of the next two years, and if they have something for him he’s open to do anything. His girlfriend is going to college in Calgary. When she finishes college, he’s going to be spending more time at his home in Kona, Hawaii, but two years from now, who knows what will happen

Meltzer reported at the beginning of May- Tony Atlas, 56, was fired this past week. They hadn’t done anything with him since the end of ECW and once they broke him and Mark Henry up (at the time Henry was the heel in the break-up), his days were numbered. Abraham Washington and Atlas had just resurfaced doing wrap-around segments on 24/7.

Meltzer reported- Carlito (Carlos Colon Jr., 32) was released on 5/21. He had not failed a drug test, but arrived in Toronto on 5/17 in no condition to perform. He was in denial that there was any kind of an issue. He was ordered to go to rehab and had still refused by the end of the week and was fired. He’s asked for his release so many times over the past few years and hadn’t been happy for the most part. Whenever he would ask for his release, he would be told that they were going to do something with him and it never materialized.

He got in the doghouse before the 2007 WrestleMania when his scheduled match with Ric Flair was taken off the show, and he went to South America and was vocal, more about Flair being taken off the show then himself, but ended up in the dog house

Meltzer reported - Jerry Lawler is starting his own promotion in Memphis, called “Jerry Lawler’s Memphis Wrestling.” He’s got television at 11 a.m. on Saturday morning on Ch. 50, debuting on 6/5, which was the time slot wrestling flourished in during the 70s and early 80s in the city. They did their first TV taping on 5/21. Brandon Baxter, Hollywood Jimmy and Bert Prentice did the announcing, with Baxter (a former manager in the area who last I heard was working as a radio D.J.) as the lead.

Cory Maclin, now running for County Clerk, who had promoted in Memphis as late as last year, was not involved with the show. They ran a small building that held 150 or so people and packed it. Koko Ware, Brian Christopher and Derrick King were the biggest names besides Lawler. Buddy Wayne and Guy Coffey, who have been around the Memphis scene since the beginning of time, worked backstage and were co-commissioners. Kevin Lawler was also involved. The idea is to run shows in the area, and have an affiliation with WWE. They taped three shows.

Meltzer reported about some stock that Shane & Vince owned at the time -

Shane McMahon currently still owns 675,249 shares of WWE stock (worth $10,810,736), and has another 631,761 shares (worth $10,114,493) earmarked toward him in a 2004 trust set up by Vince McMahon.

Vince McMahon’s 4.5 million shares at press time were worth $720,450,000.

That takes us to the pay per view -

MVP pinned Chavo Guerrero in 6:14 with the playmaker.

The 1st match was for the Intercontinental title; Drew McIntyre defending against Kofi Kingston

Smackdown GM Theodore Long stripped McIntyre of the IC title, and fired him for repeatedly attacking Matt Hardy. Long set up a tournament to determine the new champion, which Kingston defeated Christian to win the tournament and the title. Immediately following the match, McIntyre presented Long with a letter from Vince McMahon, which stated that McIntyre had been reinstated to the roster and was still recognized as the Intercontinental Champion. And that brings us to their match

Kofi Kingston pinned Drew McIntyre in 6:25 to win the IC title. The match never got going. Kingston threw McIntyre’s shoulder into the post, but then missed Trouble in Paradise. McIntyre went for the Future Shock DDT, but Kingston escaped and used the SOS (combination Code Red and outside cradle) for the surprise pin. Nobody was ready for the finish when it happened. *1/4

After the match, McIntyre said the PPV was going to stop until Teddy Long comes out and reverses the decision and gives him back the title. Instead, Matt Hardy came out and laid McIntyre out with a twist of fate.

The next match was R-Truth vs Ted DiBiase

On the April 5th Raw, DiBiase was given possession of the Million Dollar Title, and access to a trust fund by his father, The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase. Ted Jr then began looking for a "Virgil", a manservant like his father used to have. He offered the position to R-Truth, who refused, leading to a feud between the two. After losing a match to John Morrison, DiBiase attacked him, prompting R-Truth to interfere and save Morrison.

R-Truth pinned Ted DiBiase in 7:45. Matt Striker’s tidbit here was that Virgil was earning three times the money working for DiBiase as he did working for his father. A few fans tried to get a “Virgil” chant going but it didn’t take. When Striker said that Virgil was once half of the AWA Southern tag team champions with Rocky Johnson, using the name Soul Train Jones, Lawler got annoyed and said, “Whoopie.” The funny thing is there’s a good chance Lawler booked them together. Truth ended up getting the clean pin using the Lie detector (spinning clothesline). **

McIntyre went to Teddy Long and demanded the result of the title match be overturned and that Hardy be fired. Long said, “No.” McIntyre then started throwing furniture around in the office, and threatened to destroy Long’s photo of Martin Luther King Jr. Long begged him not to. McIntyre said that King was everything Long wasn’t, and that Long was spineless and that he was more like King than Long would ever be.

Ted DiBiase suffered a concussion early in his match with R-Truth, which hurt the match. An audible was called due to the injury, as the original plan was for DiBiase to blame Virgil for his loss, and lay Virgil out with Dream Street, which would send Virgil on his way. I’m not sure if Virgil getting the Vulcan death touch by Santino Marella in a comedy segment constituted his character being blown off, or if it will happen over the next few weeks.

WWE is very wary about the concussion issue for obvious reasons. DiBiase only did an interview segment and one move on Raw. He won’t be allowed to wrestle until medically cleared.

The next match was Rey Mysterio vs CM Punk

After months of feuding, Mysterio challenged Punk to a Straight Edge Society Pledge vs Hair match at Over the Limit. If Punk won, Mysterio would have joined the Straight Edge Society, if Mysterio won, Punk agreed to have his head shaved.

On May 14th, Mysterio and Punk faced each other in a singles match, but the Straight Edge Society (Luke Gallows, Serena, and a masked man) interfered and attacked Mysterio. The next week, Mysterio interrupted an initiation ceremony, in which Punk was shaving the heads of three men to induct them into the Straight Edge Society, and mocked Punk, claiming everyone would be laughing at Punk when he was shaved bald at Over the Limit. Later that night, Mysterio teamed with MVPto defeat Punk and Gallows, and that brings us to their match

Rey Mysterio beat C.M. Punk in 13:49 in a match where Mysterio would have to join the Straight Edge Society if he lost, and Punk would get his head shaved if he lost. Long banned the Society from ringside. There was blood early from Punk’s right eye, which may have been from Mysterio’s knee brace. There was also another cut on the top of Punk’s forehead, which may have come from a huracanrana into the barricade, with Punk’s head connecting with a metal part of the barricade. Punk ended up needing 13 staples to close the cut. Punk threw Mysterio sliding out of the ring into the barber chair.

Charles Robinson tried to stop the cut with a towel. Punk was visibly pissed at having the match stopped. Mysterio kept selling to make it not too bad visually but the crowd was booing the hell out of this. Once the “boring” chant got loud, Punk just ran from the people tending to his cut and went wild on Mysterio. They went back-and-forth for near falls while Lawler made fun of the teacher using the wrong tense in commentary.

Mysterio used a Code Red for a near fall. Punk with a double-arm backbreaker. Punk tried the GTS, Mysterio tried to reverse into a huracanrana, Punk blocked it and power bombed Mysterio into the corner. Punk used a bulldog off the top for a near fall and a high kick for another near fall. The next series was a quebrada by Mysterio, but Punk caught him and put him on his shoulders for the GTS. Mysterio escaped with an armdrag and hit the 619.

He missed the springboard splash. Punk’s head was all bloody at this point, and Mysterio got the pin with a schoolboy. I thought the stoppage in the middle made this not reach the level of some of their other matches. ***1/4

Post-match saw The Mystery Man attack Mysterio. Luke Gallows and Serena followed. They pulled out handcuffs, but Kane made the save. Kane wasn’t moving well since he also has an ankle injury. Kane threw Gallows out of the ring and choke slammed Punk. Kane then beat Gallows to the back.

Mysterio handcuffed Punk to the ropes and gave him a 619. He handcuffed Punk’s other wrist also to the ropes and started cutting his hair. He cut a lot of his hair, but didn’t shave him bald. He then did the spot where Mysterio showed Punk what he looked like and Punk did a great job selling it.

Rey Mysterio will be taking a few weeks off on a vacation. In recent weeks, when there was talk of Mysterio having some financial issues, and we were told last week those issues were gone, the sides came to an agreement which included Mysterio getting time off after this PPV. He’s been saying that his knee is not bothering him. Mysterio was in need of surgery since last fall.

At one point there was talk of him getting surgery and they even shot an angle to eliminate him, but he decided to avoid the reconstructive surgery because it would keep him out of Mania, and he felt he’s missed enough Manias in recent years due to injuries. Originally he was planning on getting the surgery after, but he seems to be doing better.

Next is the tag team title match; The Hart Dynasty defending against Chris Jericho & Miz

The Miz's feud with The Hart Dynasty had begun while The Miz was one-half of the Unified Tag Team Champions with Big Show. During the Draft episode of Raw, The Hart Dynasty defeated The Miz and Big Show to win the championship, which led to Big Show turning on The Miz. The following week, The Miz and Jericho, another former tag team partner of Big Show, teamed up to attack The Hart Dynasty. Jericho went on to defeat Smith to earn a title match for himself and  Miz at Over the Limit.

David Hart Smith & Tyson Kidd retained the tag team titles beating Chris Jericho & The Miz in 10:43. This was technically the best worked match of the undercard, but it was hard for them to get the crowd. The crowd loved Jericho, who got a huge babyface pop, probably because of the Canadian contingent. But since he worked as the heel, crowd wasn’t getting into his heel selling. Miz & Jericho were on the floor when Smith pressed Kidd over head and threw him over the top rope onto both of them.

Striker then noted that Smith & Kidd have been teaming together since they were ten years old. You know how stupid that sounds? Well, evidently he didn’t. They did practice together in the ring in the Hart family backyard when Smith was ten. Jericho backdropped Kidd, who landed on his feet and came back with kicks.

Kidd used the jumping from the apron into the ring with the Japanese rolling crotch hold spot. Crowd didn’t even react to it but did pick up when Jericho put Kidd in the walls. Kidd did another springboard move but Jericho caught him with the codebreaker. Jericho was selling the recent beating so took a long time covering and Kidd kicked out.

Jericho argued with ref John Cone over a slow count. Smith tagged in. He used an overhead belly-to-belly, then got a near fall with a twisting powerslam. The heels got more near falls and would argue with Cone about counting slow. Smith used a running powerslam like his father on Jericho for a near fall. Miz tagged in and went for a sharpshooter on Smith, but Smith turned it into a rolling cradle. Smith used an O’Connor roll, but Miz rolled through holding the tights, but Smith again kicked out. Finish saw Smith pinning Miz after the Hart Attack finish. ***1/4

The next match was Edge vs Randy Orton

As part of the 2010 WWE Draft on April 26th, Edge was drafted to Raw. Later that night, Edge interfered in a match to determine the #1 contender to the WWE Title, spearing Randy Orton and costing him the match. The next week, Edge hosted his talk show, The Cutting Edge, with Orton as his special guest. During the show, Edge justified his actions by saying he was trying to make an impact, and attempted to convince Orton to reform Rated RKO. Instead Orton attacked Edge

The next week, Orton defeated Edge and Ted DiBiase in a handicap match, which led to "Pick Your Poison" matches on the May 17th Raw, where Edge and Orton picked each other's opponents for the night. Edge faced The Undertaker, and lost intentionally by CO, while Orton faced Jack Swagger, and lost by DQ when Edge interfered. And that brings us to the match

Edge double count out Randy Orton in 12:49. Orton got a loud initial female shrieking pop when he came out, but then it died down. Lawler had to even acknowledge it, saying how the fans still don’t know what to make of Orton. Striker noted that Vickie Guerrero was a cougar and was hot. Mostly matwork and Edge working on Orton’s stomach, with the idea he was softening him up for the spear. Orton got a near fall with the draping DDT, but Edge made the ropes. Edge went for a spear, but Orton kicked him.

Orton then went to set up the RKO and started punching the mat. That’s when his right shoulder got dislocated punching the mat. Orton’s arm was lifeless and he was pissed. Ref Jack Doan asked what was wrong. Orton went outside the ring and whispered to Edge what was wrong. Edge set Orton up against the barricades. Edge went for the spear, but Orton moved. At this point both guys were counted out. It was a bad match, but understandable given the circumstances. *

Randy Orton was likely to beat Edge, but he suffered a dislocated shoulder and the decision was made to end the match as quickly as possible with an audible double count out. That was an unfortunate deal because the two would be expected to have a good match, but this was a slow-starting match that hadn’t built into much of anything, and the finish left it flat.

What did you think of their WrestleMania match?

The next match was for the World Title. Jack Swagger defending against Big Show

As part of the 2010 draft, Big Show was drafted to SmackDown, where he was named the #1 contender immediately, on April 30. Over the next several weeks, Big Show chokeslammed Swagger through the announce table, and interrupted a promo on the May 14th Smackdown, where Swagger was bragging about his accomplishments. Big Show then destroyed Swagger's trophies and memorabilia. The following week, Big Show mocked Swagger in promos throughout the show and distracted Swagger during Swagger's match with Kofi Kingston, allowing Kofi to win

Big Show beat World champion Jack Swagger via DQ in 5:03. This was a bad match, but absolutely not understandable given the circumstances. Swagger did two Vader reverse splashes off the rope. Show did the bench press kick out sending Swagger flying out of the ring. Swagger just grabbed the belt and used it for the DQ. He then hit Show with a second belt shot. DUD

After the match, Swagger brought a chair into the ring and hit Show with two chair shots to the back. Show reversed quickly, and choke slammed Swagger. He then hit Swagger with a chair shot to the back and choke slammed Swagger onto the chair. Show then left him laying with KO punch. I rarely am stunned by watching a WWE PPV in the sense that even if it’s not what you expect, it makes sense.

I kept expecting the deal where Teddy Long would come out and say how he’s not going to let Swagger out that easily, and it never happened. Swagger comes in as a weak champion in the sense people don’t see him yet at the level, so they have to book him to get him at the level. Instead, they are doing the opposite so far.

Eve Torres pinned Maryse to keep the Divas title in 5:02. Coming off that bad match, these two being put on this late in the show meant they had no chance. There was a light feminine chant for Eve. Torres was trying to do some athletic stuff like two dropkicks, a standing moonsault and a sunset flip. Torres started throwing forearms hard enough that I thought she was going to knock Maryse’s extensions right off her head. Finish saw Torres put Maryse’s head between her legs and dropped down, kind of like a pedigree using the legs instead of the arms. Torres cradled Maryse for the win. 1/4*

The next match was for the WWE title, John Cena defending against Batista, in an I Quit Match

Cena retained the WWE title against Batista at the Extreme Rules ppv in a Last Man Standing match, by taping Batista's ankles to the ringpost. The next night on Raw, Batista defeated Randy Orton & Sheamus to become the #1 contender to the title, and get a rematch against Cena.

On the May 3rd Raw, they competed in a Beat the Clock challenge, to determine the stipulation for their match. Batista defeated Daniel Bryan in 5:06, but Cena defeated Wade Barrett in 4:32 to win the challenge and the right to name the stipulation. The following week, Cena announced that the match would be an I Quit match

John Cena beat Batista to keep the WWE title in an I Quit match in 20:28. Before the match started, Batista told Cena he’d give him a chance to say “I Quit” before the match started and he got hurt. Cena actually teased he was going to quit before hitting Batista in the head with the mic and they were off. Cena destroyed a chair hitting a post. Striker said the first I Quit match in history was in 1985.

At this point in the show he had become an annoying idiot. Dueling chants here, but the Batista fans were louder. Batista hit the spear and then put on the Stu lock (the crossface like move he’s been doing, named after Stu Hart who used the move in the basement to make football players and weightlifters scream). Cena struggled and fought it. The crowd completely didn’t buy it as a finish. Perhaps because Batista has only done it for a few weeks, and put it on Mark Henry and Cena on TV and neither quit. Cena broke it with a hip toss and put on the STF. Batista made the ropes.

Batista didn’t say “I Quit,” but instead passed out. Well, you can’t quit when you’re passed out. Keep in mind in the famous Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin match, Austin passed out and Hart was ruled the winner. That was a submission match and this was an I Quit match, but they are the same thing. Instead, it was ruled that since Batista had passed out, he never said I Quit. So Cena had to get water to revive him and then beat him up more. And Batista recovered immediately hitting the spinebuster and Batista bomb. That was just too preposterous for me.

Batista then cleaned off the Spanish announcing table, which made its return to Carlos Cabrera and Hugo Savinovich on this show. They really ought to bring back the Smackdown table so we only have to hear Striker for half the show, and they can keep him away from Lawler. I think Cabrera and Savinovich at this point must be trailing only Howard Finkel and Pat Patterson as far as the longest-lasting employees.

Every night when they go to bed, they should thank their lucky stars that Vince doesn’t know a lick of Spanish, or else he’d probably be screaming in their ear so much they’d be forced to marry a Wall Street maven or sign with TNA.

Batista then cleaned off the English table. He powerslammed Cena off the English table through the Spanish table. Cena was busted open and the doctors came out and they stopped the match. Batista got tired of waiting and threw Cena over the barricade into the stands. He teased throwing Cena off the second deck with a power bomb. Cena punched his way out and Batista fell. Several Michigan indie guys including Conrad Kennedy III were there to break his fall.

He really didn’t fall far, but landing on concrete if those guys weren’t there at the angle he was falling would have been a bad idea. Cena knocked Batista down the stairs. Batista came back with three chair shots to the back. Batista then got in a car that for some reason was on the stage. He backed up in theory, running over Cena. Well, except you could see Cena move. There was no reaction.

Cena then attacked Batista, pulling him out of the car. Cena smashed Batista’s head into the hood of he car. He then gave him the Attitude Adjustment onto the hood of the car. Batista refused to quit. Cena smiled and said he was glad he said that. Cena put Batista on his shoulders, climbed to the roof of the car and teased throwing him off. Batista screamed that he quit and the match was over. Cena still threw him off the car into a gimmicked part of the stage, which broke and Batista landed on a crash pad. After Cena was celebrating, as he was leaving the ring, Sheamus came out and laid Cena out with a bicycle kick. ***½

The biggest departure, as has been talked about since WrestleMania, is Batista. Batista, whose contract expires at the end of this month, had originally agreed to work house shows until mid-to-late June, and was advertised on a number of shows.

The last word we were told is because he suffered a back and tailbone injury in taking the crash pad bump at the end of the PPV, the decision was made to finish him up with the interview that aired on the 5/24 Raw show.

Even though he has said he’s leaving, virtually nobody believes he won’t be back, and for that matter, relatively soon, with most people figuring he’ll ask to come back in three to six months, and if not, for sure in enough time for WrestleMania. The feeling is at his age (41), he doesn’t have a lot of big money years left, he’s making big money (In recent years he’s been earning between $2 million and $3 million annually, and doing a lot of $50,000 weeks if it’s PPV week), lives big and there’s no way for him to earn that kind of money elsewhere.

He’s telling people that he’s got a huge money MMA offer and would be leaving for that sport, which has raised a lot of eyebrows given his age and that he has no formal competitive experience in any of the disciplines involved. He has been doing some MMA training of late, but few are taking the idea of him fighting seriously. Plus, people in the company have brought up that he ended up a few years back on the losing end of a fight with Booker T, although a street fight and an MMA fight are entirely different.

But at his age, it’s ridiculous, and while some may cite Herschel Walker, Batista couldn’t get anywhere near the mainstream press Walker got, and he isn’t in the same league of an athlete Walker is. He had been telling friends for more than a year of his interest in leaving to pursue acting.

The next night on Raw took place from Toledo, Ohio

It opened with Batista coming out. He was helped to the ring by referees, had his arm in a sling and sat in a wheelchair cutting a promo. He also had what appeared to be a made up bruised eye, because the eye itself looked fine but they had bruises all around it. Batista said people heard the words “I Quit” come out of his mouth, something he thought he would never say. But he said his life was threatened, and said he was going to sue Cena, the WWE and every WWE fan.

First he said he was out for weeks, months or maybe years, but then demanded a rematch on the next PPV.

United States Champion Bret Hart came out as the new General Manager. Hart announced Fatal Four Way, and that Cena’s three opponents would be announced as a result of matches tonight. He said Batista could qualify tonight. Batista said that was crazy, because he was injured. Hart said he could wrestle someone who was also injured, Orton.  Hart said he could face Orton, or lose via forfeit. Batista got so mad that he quit the promotion, so Orton got in via forfeit. Orton never came out during this segment.

In the first qualifying match, Sheamus pinned Henry in 4:01. Sheamus worked on Henry’s injured shoulder from the beating from Batista two weeks ago. Henry made a comeback, had Sheamus pressed over his head to set up the world’s strongest slam, but the shoulder gave out. Sheamus then used the bicycle kick for the pin.

Jon Lovitz was backstage with Maryse. At first he hit on her, and she blew him off. Then he spoke French to her and said he was really rich. She was then interested and then he blew her off. Edge and Jericho both went to Hart wanting to be in the four-way. Instead of doing a singles match, Hart made it Edge vs. Jericho vs. Cena. The stips were that if Edge or Cena got the pin, they’d be in the match. If Cena won, then Hart would pick the guy in the match.

Maryse & Fox beat Torres & Kim in 2:12 when Fox kicked Torres in the face and Maryse pinned her with a DDT.

It was then announced with Hart as General Manager, that he vacated the U.S. title. Hart never said anything and the announcers just touched on it. R-
Truth pinned Miz in 10:03 to win the title, winning clean with the lie detector (spinning clothesline finisher). Lots of near falls.

Cena did a backstage promo. Cena said the win over Batista made him feel good for the first time in months because the feud had closure. He talked about facing Orton, Jericho, Edge and Sheamus and he’s going to be a new Cena who will fight harder than ever.

Next was the Jon Lovitz Superstar search. First, Khali and Singh came out singing “Putting on the Ritz.” Lovitz hit the buzzer. Then Jillian Hall came out and Lovitz hit the buzzer the moment he saw her.

Then Lovitz started talking about how the WWE wrestlers didn’t have any special talents so how about the fans. They started showing the fans before bringing a plant (Joe Francosi of the writing team) into the ring. He was a producer for UPW back when Cena and Samoa Joe were starting out there around 2000. Apparently during his interview process (he just started on the team about two months ago) he entertained Michael Hayes by pulling his fake eyeball out.

DiBiase came out with Virgil and said he wanted to buy the eyeball from him. Virgil was flashing the dollars. DiBiase said he’d either buy it, or he’d beat the guy up and take it. Marella came out. Earlier in the show they did this stupid deal where Lovitz claimed he learned this death grip. Marella came out and did it to Virgil, Then he did it to DiBiase, who no sold it. DiBiase then gave Marella Dream Street.

Hart Dynasty beat Regal & Kozlov with the regular Hart attack finish as opposed to the springboard version, on Regal on 1:18. At that point the twin sons of Rikishi and current FCW tag champs hit the ring. They use the names Jimmy & Jules Uso. With them was Sarona Snuka, Jimmy’s daughter. They laid out the Dynasty and Natalya and all three came off the top rope with Snuka splashes. They never identified them or went back to this.

They did a backstage interview with the NXT guys. They asked everyone who they wanted out, and everyone said Slater. Lawler then brought up Bryan attacking Cole on NXT last week. Cole said that his lawyers are demanding Bryan apologizes to him publicly or he will sue him for everything he’s got.

Edge over Cena and Jericho in the three-way in 10:28.  A lot of near falls and saves.. Finish was Jericho using a codebreaker on Cena, but then Edge speared Jericho and got the pin. When it was over, Sheamus and Orton came out.

When the show was over, Cena challenged Sheamus to get in the ring. Sheamus refused for a long time, but finally tried to jump Cena, who dusted him off with the Attitude Adjustment.
