He was also on an undefeated streak in NWA/WCW in 1989-1990 yet was jobbed out 4 times in the Starrcade Iron Man tournament, which led to his departure for over 10 years. According to Bruce Prichard, He and Patterson went to meet Muta in 1990 for a possible WWF run but again, Gary Hart blocked anyone taking his meal ticket.
