The month of June 1986 for Jim Crockett Promotions is all about setting the table for the month of July, as The Great American Bash tour is getting set to kick off!

We see big shows throughout the month of June, bringing in some big gates, as Flair, Dusty, Magnum, the Road Warriors, Rock ‘N’ Roll and Midnight Express continue to bring the crowds in.

We see the return of Ole Anderson to the fold of the Four Horsemen in an attack on Dusty Rhodes, as they return to full strength. Ole puts Dusty and all of JCP on notice - and says that the Horsemen will soon have all the gold.

Magnum TA finds himself being reprimanded after losing his cool at the press conference last month, and winds up punching out the NWA president, Bob Geigel - which leads to him being stripped of his United States Championship. A best-of-7 series is now in place with Nikita Koloff that will become a hallmark for this first Bash tour, that is still talked about to this day.

Jim Cornette continues to mock and taunt Babydoll leading up to their matches in July, and Cornette’s new bodyguard, the silent Big Bubba, is proving to be a formidable obstacle in the way of getting hands on Jim, barely fazed by a brutal chair shot and showing no fear.

The Horsemen are running wild and the excitement is building for the month of July and Thr Great American Bash. But consider June the ‘go-home month’ as we get all the pieces into place on the latest edition of The Book!

I love listening to Mr. Crockett but, damn, I sure do wish David Manning was doing the book with WCCW. I don’t understand why it just suddenly stopped without anyone mentioning it. Kinda swept under the rug.
