It’s another hot month for Jim Crockett Promotions in May 1986 coming off a strong angle at the end of April that involved a heinous attack on Babydoll - and a plan for revenge is in the works.

Several feuds are picking up more steam, Jim Cornette and the Midnight Express determined to get the better of the ‘James Boys,’ which leads to a close call in an in-ring kidnapping attempt that narrowly avoids disaster out in the parking lot.

World Champion, Ric Flair, continues to draw big crowds wherever he performs, and has now been working the main event regularly against one half of the Rock 'N' Roll Express, Ricky Morton. The young heartthrob is thrilling the audiences, and making Flair angrier in the process, and with Arn and Tully in tow, Morton may find himself in serious danger.

The beloved Magnum TA and his Russian nemesis, Nikita Koloff, are heading towards what will turn out to be a legendary best of seven series.

Real life backstage friction bleeds into the on-air promos as personalities clash - the TV is on fire with amazing moments both in ring and on the microphone. From the Midnight Express’ total massacre of the Mulkey Brothers to the American Dream dropping a line that causes Magnum & Babydoll to break on-camera. Oh and Steve Regal (no not that one) shows up to claim his spot in JCP, but his first on-air promo doesn’t really hit it out of the park.

It’s all on the May 1986 edition of ‘The Book’ only on AFS!

I absolutely love these shows. I remember watvhing as far back as Gordon Solie on TBS. So when Mr. Crockett, sorry, David, and Conrad are going thru all of this, it brings back a lot of fun memories. The behind the scenes stuff is really neat. 👍
