Hey Patrons, here's some more information about the upcoming Rise of Drekis campaign!

We've got our first character created today! I'm trying to get this launched asap, so we did character creation offline instead of waiting for overlays so the show can come out faster, and so we could incorporate the character's appearance into the overlays.

Speaking of overlays, I want to use that screen space more effectively. Since we've only got 1 character for this segment, I'm thinking about splitting cams and dice to one side of the overlay and using the other side of the overlay to show off the character more. Maybe do a model of them and their gear, with rotating notes, descriptions, stats, and other tidbits of info? This is still in process, but I feel like there's more value that can be squeezed out of the overlay space for campaigns that typically gets done. I haven't yet settled on an artist for them.

All the background information presented in this post is confirmed now, and we have additional character and campaign information that has come out today's planning.

Character Description
Elaine Pentalin. Red, long hair covering ears. Green eyes. Stern expression. Pale skin with freckles. Wiry build. Right handed. 5'9" 145lb. Black breastplate with chain limbs. Dark winter cloak with white fur trim. Silver medallion on neck.

Warded by the Mantel family in Redport. The Mantel family runs the local city watch. It is headed by Vigo Mantel, who is married to Runa Mantel, and their young son Torben. Torben was ~3 years younger than Elaine when she was in the care of the Mantels.

Campaign Details
At the start of our game, Lieutenant Elaine Mantel (not yet a knight, so don't call her Kel Pentalin), will be the sole leader of 3 spears of soldiers. The NCOs that head each spear are named Gregor, Willa, and Otto. The party will be dropped off on the shore of an island where the deserters are expected to be with 40 days of supplies and 4 donkeys. The ship should return in ~28 days to either drop off more supplies, or pick up the party to head home.

You can't cary 40 days of supplies around a frozen wasteland with just 4 donkeys and no carts (carts don't work in snow very well), so the party will have a basecamp from which they operate. How they operate is totally up to Elaine.

The deserters that are being sought are of unknown numbers - that is to say, it isn't known how many of the original company deserted, how many of them made it the island, and how many of them are still alive. The company (~100 people) originally had a cleric with them, but no mages, so there may be a spell caster in their midsts.

It's also unknown why they deserted, so it's possible there are foreign agents among them and that their desertion is actually a defection. If that is the case, there may be additional enemies or spell casters.

The area of these islands isn't known to have any civilized creatures, but is certain to have monsters. How many and what kinds are unknown - there's been a lot of violence lately and the monsters here might be very few in number.

Lastly, the into video is almost done. There was a stream of working on the text and audio aspects earlier this week if you wanna follow along, but the full intro will be released as soon as it's done. Which should be in the next week or two.

That's it! Thank you so much for your continued support, without it we wouldn't be here today. ♥

p.s. I'm going to try to redo the 2e character sheets or at least update them, but idk if it'll get done before its time for the game.

I feel like overlays should be as barebones as possible. With an appropriate amount of space for Cameras and names. With the most space devoted to rolls and roll20 map. Any character information is better served as a link in live chat and in the description of vods. And the Arcadia wiki.

If you've got 5 cameras on screen, totally! But with just 2 cameras, there's a lot of screen space. It could just be talking heads, or you could use some of the extra space to do good stuff.
