The 'Life-Size' Spirit Proton Pack comes with a decent Neutrona Wand - but there is quite a bit of room for improvement and upgrades! This collection of upgrade parts includes a few key upgrades that can make your Spirit wand closer to what we see in the 84 movie.

  • 'Gun track' upgrade - Here I used a Q-pack gun track and modeled an 'infill' piece to complete the 'step' geometry on the underside. I used a metal v-hook although you can likely re-use the smaller metal hook that came with the Spirit pack.
  • Vent light chamber - You'll need to use a steady hand with a Dremel tool to cut out the vent light slots. Then you can affix the 3D printable vent light chamber to the inside.
  • Top dial post - The Spirit pack has the top dial attached to the surface of the main body. I created a simple 'post' to lift it off the body. A machine screw ties it all together.
  • Various light hats - I created a few light hat parts to replace the solid plastic versions on the main control box.
  • Button fillers - I opted to relocate the Spirit's "On/Off" and "Fire" toggles to their location on the trigger box. I included simple printable hole filler in this case.
  • Switch fillers - I found that when removing the plastic switches, I needed some properly sized holes for toggle switches.

In addition to the 3D printed parts, I used JB weld putty to sculpt some faux welds on the wand. A fresh coat of matte black and light weathering completes the look.
