Exclusive - 'Concept' Dual-Chair Gunner Seat for Kenner Ecto-1 (Patreon)

An account on Instagram caught my attention awhile back - @theartoftgb posts about animation cells and concept art related to the Real Ghostbusters Cartoon. (If you are a fan of RGB, give them a follow!)

A few posts in late-2021 caught my attention: concept art for play features considered for the Kenner Ecto-1! The Ecto-1 was one of my favorite vehicles when I was a kid so it was really cool to see some of the features the toy design team was considering early on.

One of my favorite concepts is the dual-gunner chair that could fit two Ghostbusters figures on the Ecto-1 roof. The chair included a blaster station and a claw for capturing ghosts. The chair also solves a critical flaw of the original toy: with two seats on the roof and two in the car the dual chair allows all four Ghostbusters to have a proper place to sit!

I decided to design a 3D printable dual-gunner set inspired by this concept art. The piece is designed to fit in the hole occupied by the single chair included with the Kenner toy. It's a quick and easy build and can make for a great display piece or something to add a bit a play value for the kids.
