The Kenner Ghostbusters Firehouse is an iconic vintage playset - but it's not without opportunities to be improved.

A key design flaw, in my view, is the lack of a proper 2nd floor. In the original design, we are given a partial L-shaped 2nd floor - it's more of a mezzanine and there aren't many options for play or display.

Here I have published my 'upgrade' for adding in a more complete 2nd floor that can be installed in your Kenner firehouse. I used standard print resolution (0.2mm layer height) and a 15% infill setting.

The parts here include:

  • A post clip that provides an anchor point for the floor to rest off of the playset's main grey post. After printing, this should have enough flex to clip over your post.
  • A floor part that spans the open middle space of the partial L-Shaped floor. I included the open 'grid' in case any of you are still pouring slime through the roof and want it to go all the way down!

No permanent alternations are required to the vintage playset! It's a quick build and definitely increases the 'real estate' value of the firehouse.

Kinda wished it sat flush with the floor and would click in the holes you'd see remaining after you take away the railing.
