An excellent review, which changed my perspective on the game in hindsight. I absolutely loved the combat, it was gripping, and the extra difficulty had me constantly on my toes. But now I feel that the story moments that wowed me were more due to their visual and audio artistry, rather the context in which they fit in. Now that you mentioned the podcasts, I can't stand the easy wasted potential. Instead of telling me what just happened in one of two ways, use that time to explore storytelling you were never going to show. Show me someone stranded in a building with tendrils. Show me someone who nearly died in the carnival. Show me there's a city to connect to. Thanks for opening my eyes a bit. I still thoroughly enjoyed my time, but I can now put my finger on the things that felt off when playing.
