Yoruichi was the captain of Squad 2, Soi Fon was her lieutenant and Urahara was the 3rd Seat at the time. Aizen was Shinji's lieutenant, and the other Vizard were Captains and Lieutenants of other squads. The longest serving captains from then are Ukitake who is Kaien and Rukia's captain, Kyoraku(flower guy), Unohana(Squad 4 healer) and of course Old Man Yama. The rest we can clarify in the next episodes if you have questions.

What Anthony said about the stakes i totally agree, but unfortunately old shounen's rarely have that, on the other hand you gonna enjoy the hell out of the newest arc in Bleach, its way more bloody/action packed with stakes. Kenpachi is the title of the strongest.
