I'm going to point out a small detail that may have been missed. It's not a spoiler because it was already brought up earlier and they introduced Kaien as Kaien Shiba, but Kaien is Ganju's older brother, the one that he knows was killed by soul reapers and he was there when Rukia brought Kaien's body back(in another flashback that you saw). Also, more than Rukia have noticed Ichigo's resemblance to Kaien. When Ukitake(the white haired captain), saw Ichigo on the bridge for the 1st time, he was shocked and Rukia's brother told him, that person is nobody. When we saw Bleach the first time around, we all wondered why there was a resemblance, so you're not alone in wondering! :)

Oh and one more non-spoiler answer, the reason the filler is so long from Ep 64-108 is because it went into a whole non-canon story arc that lasted that many episodes. People skip it because it's not considered very good. Because it was non-canon, there was no way to have any real story or character progression and makes the arc less interesting.

Lower than that, I think 7th seat? Kaien was the lieutenant, his wife was 3rd and the goofy twins were 4th and 5th. After Kaien died the goofy twins moved up but Ukitake didn't pick another lieutenant.

I can't believe I never caught on to that, even rewatching it here with Anthony and Kacee pointing out multiple times that he looks exactly like Ichigo it still went over my head haha. I always thought it was someone else and that always confused me. The part abought Ukitake thinking Ichigo looked familiar that is, I knew he was Ganju's brother.
