I feel bad for the women they were publicly shaming. Something tells me that if they didn't voluntarily have sex with the Germans then they would have involuntarily had sex with them. If you're living in you're life and then invaders arrive you have to do anything to survive.

And you're right about the tanks first being used during WWI. Since that war became known as the trench war, they needed vehicles that could cross the trenches.

Dutch celebrated because they got liberated at least for a while, as most countries that were occupied by germans at the time. Netherlands were called like by most of the time in Europe at least, its just got confused by some people and called Holland, which is the biggest province with capital in Netherlands, (its like calling US California or Texas pretty much) its just a province. I would suggest watching Epic History series of world war I one day or oversimplified ww2 it not long and will explain most of the history that you are lacking, also reaction's to those are really popular, so maybe one day if you have a extra time.
