I know I'm On Break™ for the month, but I received a neat commission request from someone who wanted to see a followup to the Sinnoh map I drew a couple of months ago - and I had been wanting to do another region for some time, it's just that my list of priorities is so long that it would've taken forever for it to come to the top. So, that's what I ended up doing this weekend.

I'm sure the region itself needs no introduction. This is Pokemon's Hoenn region, set on a 10-mile square grid accurate to the scale of Kyushu, with every single major location featured in the Pokemon anime painstakingly tracked down, marked, and labeled in addition to the game's featured locations. The filler islands are so dense that you can actually track Ash's journey just by looking at it - look at all that padding they had to do between Lilycove and Mossdeep!

This one has some improvements over the Sinnoh map. There are trees now! It's also got a more vibrant color palette, stolen from the palette that I use to paint my normal maps, and this time, I didn't forget to include the scale bar. The total contents of the archive attached below are:

  • Hoenn regional map containing locations from both the games and the anime
  • Map containing only locations from the games
  • Map containing only the base terrain with no features
  • All icons used in the map (same as the Sinnoh icons)
  • The raw .kra file containing all of the map data

The map is 2,940x1,960 pixels wide and tall, and each 10-mile square is 70 pixels squared. If you're dropping this into Roll20, it will fit the default grid size exactly. Hope you enjoy it!
