The Penthouse Raid (20x16) & A Brief Announcement (Patreon)
Content
Good morning! Last week's poll ended with "Raided Cyberpunk Apartment" in first place, so that's what this map is: a bloody raid on an unsuspecting penthouse.
- The Supporter-tier variants include a massacre in this high-end apartment, the penthouse in a pristine and relatively untouched state, and nighttime versions for both!
- The Enthusiast-tier variants include two blackout variants - with every light in the building shut off. There's also a clean version of the raid, with no blood to be found, and a particularly dark bonus edit, with a single stain all over the sheets of the master bedroom.
Benefactors might be pleased to know that this map comes with a very large pack of furniture assets of various shapes, sizes, and fidelity. The map itself is 20 tiles wide and 16 tall, and is as always in the usual resolution of 100 pixels squared per tile.
THE OTHER THING
Now, the second thing: I need to take a break from my work. I've had a lot of work and stress pile up on me over the last couple of weeks, and I really need a breather. What's particularly concerning for me is that I haven't been enjoying drawing, lately.
What this means is, there won't be a map next week, and possibly the next, either, depending on circumstances. October has five weekends in it, so strictly speaking, I'd be skipping one anyways, since my schedule is only four maps in a month, but I may need more time than that. If it lasts longer, I'll post an update. Obviously, since I won't be publishing anything, noone will be charged.
The purpose of this break, beyond trying to reduce stress, is also so that I can purchase and practice with Clip Studio Paint, a graphics program that seems to be significantly more powerful and useful than Krita is. Krita has been causing me a lot of headaches recently, from token and file management to a host of bugs that I can't really mitigate, and CSP has a lot of interesting tools that I hope I might be able to use to automate the more tedious parts of my work - but in order to do that, I need time to get accustomed to the program. With any luck, it should help improve the quality of my art - and maybe I'll post a couple of free practice maps, if I come up with anything nice.
The second reason is that I feel that I need to re-think my business strategy here. I'm not confident I'm providing the value that I could be and I know I could optimize my work, but it's a hard decision to make because I think I dug myself into a hole. I'll figure something out, I have some plans, but I need time to sit on it. In the meantime, if you have any commentary at all on what you think of the patron tiers, the rewards provided, or what you'd like to see, I'd appreciate the feedback.
Thanks for understanding, and have a good week.
