Good morning! I went around searching for a shady beach-type map a few days ago, and I couldn't find one, so I figured I'd just make one myself. Featuring supernatural fog, horrific portals to the abyss, and possibly fanservice.

  • The Supporter tier variants include the free modern beach scene, with scattered towels and amenities - and also a version without any man-made objects to shatter the illusion of a fantasy world, if you happen to be playing in any time-period before 1955. You also get a night-time scene!
  • The Enthusiast tier variants are much more monstrous - included is an eerie, possibly supernatural and definitely vision-obscuring fog that's swept over the beach and driven any stragglers away. Worse, there's also an aquatic portal that's opened in the middle of the bay, and noone knows what it's doing...

The map is 30 tiles wide and 20 tiles tall, and I'm messing around with how I draw my grids more. Checkerboards are back! I'd like to know what people think of the checkerboards, actually. I also regrettably had to drop my old method of drawing grids on grass - it's very hard to indicate hill depth and direction when most of the map has to be covered in grass detail for the grid. I still think it looks okay as it is, though.

The free map is attached to this post. Raw map files are available for Dutchman patrons, too. Thanks for your attention, and if you haven't subscribed and like what I'm doing, I'd appreciate it if you signed up! And if you have, well - I hope you enjoy the maps! See you all next week.
