Ranma 1/2 is one of the funniest anime I've ever watched. This map in particular arose from a handful of loose production sketches I had found online on an old Geocities website, detailing the layout of the dojo that most of the show was set in. There's actually an enormous number of ancient websites from 1999 full of Ranma-related content. It's a curious microcosm of the early internet.

The two color palette variants today are a nighttime version and an autumn version (pictured!). This new style is much more accomodating for things like nighttime maps, but it's frustrated me in other ways. I can't shake the feeling that it's inadequate. I'll have to practice with it a lot more - later. I'm exhausted.

Sorry for the lack of a variant today; this map was a huge pain in the butt to make and it wasn't until half-way through it that I realized I didn't have any good plans for a meaningful tactical variant. I'll make sure to make up for it in a few days, but I need a bit of rest first, because on top of the sheer scale and the new style of drawing, I have some stuff I put off to take care of.

Enjoy the map!

Also, I've tagged the map as Fantasy, but technically some parts of it are anachronistic. I figured they were small enough that you might be able to glaze over them, but in practice that's up to you, I suppose.
