I have had some second thoughts about my tier pricing since before I launched, and the basis of the comparatively high prices was that I felt that most artists have a habit of dramatically undervaluing their own work. The problem is that I personally don't feel right charging my current costs for what I'm doing, either. Does that mean I fall victim to the same phenomenon?

I also have to consider that maps are generally not sold for the prices I've put up, too. So, I'm reducing the price of all of the main tiers. Supporter will be brought down to $2, Enthusiast to $4, and Dutchman to $8. 2, 4, 8. I'm also changing the Supporter tier: I'll throw in a second color scheme for every map I make! This will, of course, also carry over to all of the other tiers. I've also drawn some spiffy new icons for the main tiers, which show off a diagram of the tier's contents.

I suppose I'm only speaking to two people right now, and one of them is a friend of mine, but I still felt the need for an announcement of some sort. I'll be making this change before I publish the next map, so you'll only be charged for the reduced amount if you switch to the new tiers before Saturday. (Patreon does not let you change the value of a tier while it is in use, so I will have to retire them and make more.)

Quick edit: I've also decided to stop regularly making hex grids for my maps. My core philosophy is to make unambiguous and clearly designed maps, and trying to make a map conform to both hexagonal and square grid needs is extremely difficult to do, on top of the problems I have with my current workflow for making the grids to begin with. What's more, hex grids are generally far less commonly used than square grids tend to be, and the gridless maps can have a hex grid overlaid on top of them anyways, if need be. Sorry if this causes any inconvenience.

As a bonus, have a sneak peek of the Pokemon arena I'm finishing up right now. The variant will be an aquatic battlefield, for water-type gyms or fights, or what-have-you. Thanks for reading.

Well, I‘m not complaining about that at all xD Won‘t miss hex grid, tbh. Less book keeping when sorting map folders for campaigns ^^

-vibrates with excitement at another pokemon map- my party is actually heading in the direction of a water gym >:3 super excited ...also I will not miss the hex grid, frankly, programs like roll20 let you add grids/hexes anyway so I always prefer your clean maps :)

Hahaha, this post is from last January, just so you know! ( I don't miss the hex grids either. Manually painting grids sucks, especially when it doesn't conform to the built-in gridlines. )
