Hello my dear patrons!

I show you here the process for drawing a simple but effective pose .

I always start from the “balloon”: I place the head and trace the action line (which means the line that passes through the whole body and makes the pose fluid and natural)

I use a simplified anatomy, mostly inspired by animation characters but a little more detailed.

This is the main difference between my old drawing , very cartoony, and the new one, more “French comics” style.

Notice that I decide and define the face expression immediatly. This is why I think that the pose is moved “from the inside”. So I have to have clear what the character feels for creating a convincing pose.

The rest is pencil work :)
