BEHIND THE SCENES // from Storyboard to final work (Patreon)

YO my fantastic patrons! Today I want to share with ou something special: a behind-the-scenes look of my new book,"Les Soeurs Grémillet", coming out next month! I wante to show you my storyboard work! Storyboard is a magic moment, it's where the story really starts taking shape: you can see the characters moving, acting, you can feel the emotion ... or not! XD In this case, you have to correct. The drawing is simple and fast, but it has to contain enough details to understand what happens and what the characters are feeling. Usually a big part of the work goes to trash and you start again, so you don't have to "fall in love" with your drawing. It's just made for checking if the storytelling works. I often take notes all around, because storyboarding gives you a lot of ideas that you'll be able to focus on the definitive version (page or animation layout). I show you the rough pages too, so you can compare with the storyboard. This version too is usually non-definitive, as I use it to re-check if everything is working well. I put the final pages too: as you can see, I changed some things here and there. This is why this is a "book 1", it's the most difficult and many decisions still have to be taken, so you correct and correct and correct ...
This wonderful story has been written by my pal Giovanni Di Gregorio and me, and will be published in French by Dupuis Editions. It will be translated in many languages (english, italian, spanish, German and some others, check your bookseller :)
I hope this journey has been interesting and helpful :)
besos
