TANK REPORT! - Update About Video Podcasts (Patreon)

Hey, guys! Chris here with a quick update about the video version of the podcast now that we're all recording in the same room!

Since we started doing video, the video version of the podcast always went live alongside the free feeds while the audio version came early for Patrons. We did this for a few reasons. Firstly, audio renders a lot quicker and could be posted as early as possible for the audience that specifically wanted it early. Secondly, video requires more editing and thus would potentially delay early audio versions that otherwise would be done quicker. And thirdly, Patreons video integration was particularly poor when we started doing video.

A lot has changed since then. Patreons video integration actually exists now AND we're finally all together making the editing process a lot simpler in general. I personally just also feel like there's finally additional value to the video podcast that wasn't there before just from the dynamic nature of us all reacting to each others bullshit in the same room.

THE CHANGES 

Starting this month we will begin posting the video version early on Patreon alongside the early audio version you're used to getting. We'll also be doing video versions of the Extra Ammos (specifically the ones where we're all together.)

We still need to shift editing responsibilities around and iron out some of those details so it might not happen for another episode or two, but the change will happen this month and July will be the first full month where that model is in play.

ADDITIONALLY

We've seen some requests for a two camera setup as opposed to the single shot we used for our first episode. That was always the plan anyway, so I'm happy to say that'll be in play in the next episode we'll be recording tomorrow. If anyone's curious, we used a single shot for the first test episode because important cables for our two cam setup were delayed in shipping. Single shot was always temporary. Though we might use it for Extra Ammos. These decisions are still being made ultimately.
